"The Stones"

Could it be that WEST and THE are purely coincidental in that they are the only two words that make any sense but as it is an encrypted message they have appeared by chance and don't mean anything at all. Sort of like what humans are good at which is latching onto the familiar. Saying that if that is the case then FD really are making it very hard. Shame we don't have another encrypted message where we could see if there were any repeated phrases, kind of like how in The Imitation Game where they figured each message was signed of the same way.

i'm going on the assumption that everything we can "see" and understand in the encrypted message (WEST, THE, 42.1LY) are coincidences in the encryption.

my best result for today...

I believe you're talking about Veil Nebula West? It also has a system or a part of it thats referred to as the "Witchs' Broom" I believe.

Someone mentioned it a couple days ago or yesterday. Which was also interesting because the only thing we can make out in the LP is 'west'.
We check all...wrong way

(out of topic!)
A very funny thought would be!
Imagine that this is a code for 5 copies of keys for Odyssey !
And we are like fools wondering what this is and this is a crypt message!
That would be funny!

On Halloween, The Veil is said to be closer than ever. Did you guys know we have a star system named "The Veil" about 1000ly from Sol? Nothing in the clues we've uncovered points to it, but I thought it'd be worth a check when I log on tomorrow, or if one of you want to first.

I thought maybe since we pulled a "THE" out of the LP data. Who knows?
I was there last night, didn't find anything special about it

where did this message come from? is there more?

That message come from outpost in Musca Dark Region PJ-P b6-1. Whole quest is bugged. Yesterday that message don't showed up after scanning all four points in base because message from wrecked SRV showed there and SRV didn't gives any message. Today it's work like it should.

Encrypted message must be correlated with Ghost Ship log.
If listening post gives coordinates of planetary survey team then outpost latitude 11.86 must be encrypted in message somehow.
I agree with the idea of that, so assuming that there are coordinates of the survey team and follow on coordinates for the secret base we are looking for. That might help as we know coordinates are a set pattern, maybe if we can use that to help find the primer.

But thats just the ship that brought the science team out there in the first place? I dont think theres anything special about that to be honest.

Guys

I back to srv and see this guy
He's here but doesn't belong to any faction! I do not have a trace scanner ... I have a thought ... if of course you understand what I mean!

yep i see some guy yesterday too. Killer Mike on a Killback. I attacked he, and he run away (and even not to try fight back)

Regarding the crashed sidewinder at HIP 69200 1 B.

Normally, ships(and SRVs) eject you on a escape pod. Because of this people assumed(or at least i did) that the only survivor from Geological Survey 23B was Dominic Murphy, the one that kept watching "The stones", given that there is a occupied escape pod near a SRV that was in the thargoid barnacle near the base. Following this logic, why isn't there any occupied(or damaged) escape pod near the crashed sidewinder? I've visited the site and found odd that there was no escape pod nearby.

Also, someone on the wiki page about Penelope Carver mentioned to have found 6 escape pods at about 2,65 km behind the crash. Can anyone confirm this?

the same reason, why sidewinder crash. All systems collaps cos goid effect.

That's what i thought. But you can still find escape pods in those signals where you find ships that were attacked by thargoids(forgot the name of those). Unless Carver got unlucky and her ejection system malfunctioned.

even if she are enable to eject, she is dead for now anyway

There are several random things spawning around the crater there. Today I found a crashed satellite, an srv wreck and also one with a lot of escape pods. Idk how far away they were. But around 4.5km behind the heck of the sidey I found the satellite.
