"The Stones"

sorry guys,

could someone tell me in what planet is the listening point of synuefe xe-y c17-7 ?

btw i am on the first landable planet , despite the fact is surrounded by thousands of carriers (lol), when i scan it tells me there
are 4 human signals... but when i try to find those signal on the surface there are no one.

what i am missing ?

Should be detected right away, at least was for me.
Try discovery scanner and maybe FSS. Filter navigation tab to POI/Signal sources/settlements, it should help you

I have a new possible way to decipher the message.
I was wondering about the non-number, non-letter characters and I think they may be the four operators with the dot being the multiplicator.

Now, if we look at the sequence, that could be simply an equation with spaces separating the different elements. The first one is:

8BFGTY4PLU67-RTYO06.45:GN63-74PHGJI

If we assume it is HEX code and we convert it into binary it becomes

10001011000011110000010001100111 – 00000110 . 01000101 : 01100011 – 01110100

The question is: does this make sense? Anyone used to manipulate Hex and binary that wants to try?

So, I've been quiet because I was busy with something else, but that's now done. I've been perusing the threads, and noticed we're starting to get to the crazy-guy-at-whiteboard depth of problem solving, which pretty much means we've missed something big and obvious for decoding the LP message.

I might go back up the Coalsack just to collect proper screenies, recordings and stuff.

Watching the livestream, I notice there's "other ghost ships" and "not just ghost ships" coming up over the socials soon... so looking out for that :)

Yeah, seeing the quotes from the live stream I'm starting to feel that as of now, LP enigma is uncrackable by design. We may be indeed missing something huge and fundamental, like, that this is bigger than how we're treating it, and it should slot in with the "great game". FD said that everything has a purpose and is connected. For now, Adamastor and it's mysteries are pretty standalone

Could just be caustic eating through hull.
No there is no caustic damage at the Adamastor. The visible damage and the recent fire was most likely caused by the tugship when they pulled it in stable orbit.

"The megaship displayed no signs of life, so tugs were deployed to wrench it into a safe orbit. This caused onboard power systems to overload with explosive results, damaging cargo holds and spilling debris "

i wander. Why overloading while tugging... Autopilot ?

It departed from Chukchan

"“The ship’s original destination is unknown, having returned to its launch point on autopilot." <- from the Galnet Article
While it ostensibly departed from Chukchan, there's a few discrepancies when looked at closely. One explanation is that the Adamastor was stationed elsewhere, and then travelled to Chukchan where it picked up the people, etc. and the main journey then started. A bit like chartering a coach and driver - the journey for which you've commissioned it starts where you board it, but the travel for the coach starts at a depot (or similar).

The other option, as I said, is that it did indeed set off from Chukchan on the 26th, in which case it took 3 days to do the 370 ly to the LP (getting there on the 29th). And then did around 600ly in a day to get to the Coalsack the following day. Which is certainly not unviable, and just leaves us with some gaps to fill in over what happened on the 27th and the 28th.

wait wait wait.

In the flight log we have one missing entry.
what if the Adamastor left Chukchan not on the 26th, but on the 28th?

so: 26th - Azimuth hires Adamastor and they are comming to Chukcnan
27th - preparing for mission
26th - Leaving Chukchan

This is what I've been curious about. That blank/corrupted Ship log from the Adamastor makes me wonder what it reported that day and where it was on the 28th.

I've thoroughly scanned and dropped into every planetary body in both HIP 39748 & HIP 33386 and found nothing of interest though.

I find it more plausible that the expedition was comissioned at 26, then the 3 days were spent getting ppl, mercs, fabbing reinforced cage, the get to LP after 3 days of errands, then go to geo survey 23b

at the time of the livestream, i didn't think the sidewinder wreck or LP had been discovered yet
Both had been found by the time of the livestream. We'd also found the issue with the LP and I'd tagged Arf, Stephen and Bruce in to the post about it:

Image of the Listening Post, below:

Also, paging @Arthur Tolmie @Stephen Benedetti @Bruce Garrido - there's no message from the Listening Post. They normally have a message so it looks like there's a bug. (Also the stuck/sunken SRV that's on the planet in the Coalsack seems like it might be supposed to give a message but didn't.)
That's an hour and a half or so before the livestream. No guarantees they'd seen it of course.
