Breaking it down more like I think.
Strange she didnt specify Faraday Cage but did specify 'our storage cage' all small letters.
Also 'lashed something together out of the bulkheads' doesnt sound like a Faraday Cage to me.
Added together they made a cage out of the strongest thickest metal they could find to try and contain it because it was breaking down any material.
Signals are secondary in context. So Faraday Cage is a leap in the dark from the logs.
Still doesnt mean its the pilot or not a UA, but I think we are maybe supposed to infer its something new....and Odyssey is months away....

Yeah, my first guess would be it's meant for mechanical containnement, if not, then chemical.

Not sure what they extracted, even the main guy at D2EA knows nothing. I am checking both discords quite often and I'm seeing a lot of tail chasing going on tbh.
When she's talking about the bulkhead stuff I think their main concern was to contain the corrosion.

Quick Question: Has the Listening Post been decrypted?
If not: The message must have either the system name of the outpost, its distance from the listening post, its name, or its coordinates in it. I'm at work and do not have time to try different ciphers using these values.

"Built-in" they didn't lift a finger to do it, the equipment did by itself. Just that someone got a glimpse of it, or of the specs, and figured it was "top of the line"

Yeah, they used a tool that apparently bruteforce words into the patterns. Looks promissing but no credibility to it's results

True, I really wish we knew for sure what was meant by "the beacon" they used to send their messages back to Azimuth. It's natural to suppose that they're talking about the LP, of course. But considering that is actually farther away than Chukchan itself, and referred to as a "Listening Post" in game, it would be odd if that was "the beacon". Normally in game, the word "beacon" is reserved for nav beacon type satellites.
So I would guess Taylor's "beacon" was a piece of hardware somewhere nearby - something at the base, or in orbit around the planet or the arrival star, for instance. Since we don't find anything like that after several days of intensive searching, it's reasonable to conclude that the encryption hardware has gone missing. Was it destroyed, or taken back with the Adamaster, or crashed sometime after being abandoned? Who knows? It might very well be an intentional loose thread in the story, that Frontier can reactivate next time they want to revisit this plot line. By my count there are at least three or four such loose ends outstanding - and if, as suggested by Frontier's comms, we have found everything currently in-game, they are destined to remain unresolved until Frontier sees fit.
Things to watch for in the future:
- a mysterious signal from the Coalsack leads us to the missing beacon
- news in Galnet that a survivor from the mission has been found (e.g. is there somebody alive in that escape pod that spawns when you visit the crashed SRV?)
- news of mysterious disruptions at stations/bases where artifacts from the Adamastor might have been taken
Or maybe some sort of bombs used against multiple space stations simultaneously.

Rereading that i just realized she said they were transmitting their findings "back to the company in the Chukchan system" - is this significant? I thought Chukchan was just a pass-through stop for refueling, and I thought we were looking for Azimuth's location or the ship's origin. I know the ship was headed somewhere else according to the logs, but It appears there were Azimuth reps or maybe a base of operations in Chukchan according to this.
