"The Stones"

Thx. Probably more than enough info for where I'm up to. But what geo survey? Is that further on after the LP, but before the Sidewinder in the timeline. If it is then that's too far on for me. I'm still trying to make sense of the LP and sidewinder clues pointing to a certain nebula.

theres a log on on the Adamstor with dates and star classes. You can work out which date / log youre at by checking the star in the system youre in.

(out of topic!)
A very funny thought would be!
Imagine that this is a code for 5 copies of keys for Odyssey !
And we are like fools wondering what this is and this is a crypt message!
That would be funny!
I had that thought, but that they looked like Windows keys.

The LP is kind of a dead end, so, as I see, if youre still catching up, can leave that aside.
The Sidewinder is the latest thing to happen, as far as logs go, but is the third clue as far as the event path goes: Galnet/local galnet => adamastor's logs => sidey

Draw a bubble, 300Ly radius. The nebula that intersects or touches it is you chosen one. Beware that pinning down the location can be quite a daunting quest for a lone CMDR. If our comrade hadn't lucked out we'd need to flush the nebula and scour every system/body there.

Been there (K & A class), done that (LP & sidewinder logs). I'm asking about this ref to a geo station and how that suddenly became relevant. Presumably somewhere between chukchan and the LP, but given that there's no indication in the ghost ship log of any stop before then, because no log entry obv, then what is my clue to assume that something is missing other than it was a boring day with nothing to report.

The fact there are partial entries on other days are enough of a clue to start tracking them down, you understand? But the 27th is a bit of an unknown unknown.

Thx yes its obvious which nebula is 300ly away

Oh, I catched your train of thoughts.

Sure, the lack of report from 27th can and may not be quite supect.
That said, looks like they intended for us to mass search for geo survey by design

Notice that the Adamastor was damaged by the tugs used to put it into a safe orbit...... causing on-board power systems to explode, damaging cargo holds and spilling debris. It seems like the Adamastor was therefore in OK shape prior to almost crashing into Chuchan 5B
Nothing to say there wasn't prior explosive or maybe even corrosive damage, just sayin'.
Funny how the 'goids didn't destroy the ship or it have any signs of battle damage.
Do they want you humans to find the truth of what really happened?

Uuhhhh, seems like your thinfoil hat is tunning to some extra galactic signals... Maybe we got an intruder??

Thanks. Right, and so this seems to confirm what I've been asking, the survey site giving the 27th logs is the coalsack site, and thus would have only been found by mass search, save for the ill-advised Twitter / IG posts. Given the sheer obtuseness of the LP message - way to go FDev, thats top-of-the-line games-mastering that is 🤷

I think I'm going to give up; stupid of me to expect something elegant. Searching for needles in haystacks is getting really tedious.

It's not that much of a mass search.

From the in-game stuff you've got:
  • The nebula
  • Star type
  • That it's just a single star
  • That the system contains either a HMC or Metallic body
  • That there's at least one landable (presumably the above)
That's more info than we got from the Twitter and IG posts. All they gave was the Nebula.

I mean sure, it's still might mean there's 10s of systems to check (just doing it purely in game), but it wouldn't take exceedingly long.

I think youve had the wrong attitude for some time so yes probably best to give up.

or you coud look at the puzzle. You say you have been to 2 sites the K & A class, but wilfully ignore the 3rd log and M class in the logs and the actual dates in the logs which tell you the order it happened, instead picking out the 27th for some reason and trying to criticise it when there is no associated log for that date...that you have so far?

how did 'this reference' to a geo station suddenly become relevant? Maybe if you finished it youd find out.

You have a reference to CSN, you have a 300 LY distance from one point, you know the date and the star class from the log....and yet you ignore all this and spend time moaning on the forums, yes give up, give up now.

Filters - turn off everything but POI.

make sure you have fully FSSd the system apart from Transient or Non-Human signals, but the ones near the left.....or drop into a NavBeacon if there and scan that then try POI and see. If not there its a bug.

Yep, must just be a bug in that case. Stuff happens.

Is the game bugged?
I am in Kitae and cannot find the genship, and I have relogged twice.
Have you tried flying towards where it should be? If not, start at the star, select the Zephyrus system, and fly towards it for around 2,000ls - see if the genship then appears on your navpanel.

Try the FSS at that point as well - see if it picks up the Gen ship signal when within 1,000 ls of it.

Appearing as expected - operator error suspected 🤷‍♀️
