"The Stones"

Sorry if this has been mentioned above (now 68 pages to wade thru),,,
Approaching the 'Geological Survey Site 23B' at high altitude and a steep approach angle; a Thargoid ship was seen to take off from either the Barnacle site or Survey site then vanish in the usual black cloud/wake.... anyone else see this or were we hallucinating? o7
Yep, always been there.

Yep this OK (normal)

Hi Cmdrs...
hope my English is enough to describe my concern here.
We in the German Forum are also puzzled about the adamastor incidents. Currently we also noticed a log in the Cmdr Data Archive, which comes from the system CHUKCHAN. It was added on the same day I visited the Admastor. Unfortunately I only have the German version of the logs and will attach it here. Possibly a Cmdr can still post it in English. we are unfortunately not getting smart from the log either where he comes from or what he wants to say. For it does not fit the history of the Adamastor. Continue to have fun puzzles.

We need a clear picture here as some questions are raised again and again.

Any chance @Jmanis as the OP would be interested to edit first post by putting there the latest recap made by @Secret Name in post #1,303 ? Also, some maintenance later would be good, so all fresh info is there.
Adding FAQ would be nice, like appearing Thargoid at crashed SRV, which is normal but puzzles new Cmdrs here.

English: it's the bug, that you see wrong logs in the Codex

Yep, looks like it's been worked out.

The 8 at the start means "Take every 8th character" by the looks, and if you get that you get a clean first line (and all the other characters are junk padding), and you also get the lat + star class from the Adamastor's logs.

I love this community! Hands down the best there is.

(Groans)... so the encryption was literally 'Top of the Line'

Great work there, some clever people on these forums
Yeah, I groaned as well. I’d been having another look at the possibility that Top Of The Line was a clue, but had been looking at it in terms of it giving a character to character mapping.

So, exactly what @Jmanis said about looking for simple answers and not layering on unnecessary complexity, I guess! 😀

(Though having said that I’d still like to think there’s some more info in the rest of the LP text! 😂)

So, the one question (which I don't think there's an answer to right now) is; where was it going? It wasn't heading back to Chukchan if it hit HIP 69200... it only AP'ed back there once systems failed.

I think there are still unanswered questions as to what actually might have happened on the ship.
In the recent livestream, they said that "Thatchinho" was on the right track about something along with references to the size of Arf's snozz(nose) and some other ramblings. Someone posted it in one of the threads recently.
Anyway, what i'm suggesting is using what info we have and take a more scientific approach to solve what happened the crew, if we can.
Here is the post i "suspect" they may have been refering to:

Sorry, problems linking it as potato phone so can somene help me out a bit and post it please?

I’m not so sure on that.

I don’t think there’s been any coherent story / in-game reason put forwards for the Adamastor’s original flight path other than deliberate obfuscation of the destination.

That collapses if the Adamastor returns to Chukchan on a straight line from the Coalsack, so for coherence if they were returning to Chukchan, they’d go off in a different direction to start with. The 1__ distance thing from the logs would fit with that. There might also be some misjumps.

Having said that, I’m already a bit concerned that there only seems to be a certain amount of coherence to go around, and that it’s having to be split between puzzle and plot, so who knows! 😀

Oh, just in addition to the previous reply, there’s still also the matter of the (mostly) deleted log from the Adamastor on the 28th.

Looks like the alliance send a megaship to the 23b site

But it's another body, should be worth to check it out again, as well as the megaship itself.

Maybe fdev implemented something else that's new.

BTW storythought: NMLA could be completely an alliance operation to distract the other both superpowers. There's a war starting (new galnet article + CG)
