I don't think the name "Thargoids" has made the test of times.

It sounds dated and something taken straight out of a 1950s sci-fi movie. (Not that this is bad - but it does not fit the ED universe in 2015 - imho)

I know there is a lot of Lore and nostalgia connected to the name....but I really think it should be called someting else. "Thargoids" could be the nickname....but not the actual latin name given.

What do you think?

Preposterous.

Agreed, it does sound dated.

But I guess it will provide a laugh to new players and then they'll just get use to it....

200AD eh? All those Romans...

I think it was the Eagle too. Used to collect. SOMEONE who shall remain nameless, bless her, threw them out...

Nah... don't you know that the Thargoids have been working on genetics in the years they have not been seen. They look human now and are living amongst us, searching out our weaknesses, looking for Baltar...

Just don't tell Sharon...

I personally would like to say a warm welcome to our new Thargoid overlords.

Z...

Well if we dont call them Thargoids then we have to call them something else. Who do we know that everybody hates and are totally gung Ho, shoot first and never ask questions. Some unkind person would say lets call them "American" but I think this would be a tad harsh.

We are humans (well some of us are anyway) and thus we are humanoid. Thargs are Thargs and are thus Thargoid. Of course they have their own name for themselves which we do not know and obviously a name for us which we do not know either as theyve never stopped by for a chat.

Capt Kremmen and Karla land on a Planet

Karla; "hey Capt, look, all the cars here are coloured Pink!"
Capt K; "your right, it must be a Pink Car Nation"

The only bit of an episode i can remember while listening to Kenny Everett's Saturday Radio show on Capital Radio.
Wouldve been around 1978/79
