I've had another idea - the
Celestial Bodies Pack, with animals named after features in space or with these features incidentally in their name.
1. Moonrat - Despite looking like a white rat, it is actually a Southeast Asian spineless hedgehog. Instead of spines, it defends itself by producing a smell like rotting garlic. Although I don't think they are kept currently, they have been kept successfully in zoos in the past.
2. Sunbittern - A South American ground-dwelling bird, that lives in rainforests and habitats near water. It uses its wings, with large eye-spots, as a warning against rivals and predators. They can be kept in mixed exhibits with other smaller rainforest species such as monkeys, anteaters, sloths, agoutis, tortoises and other birds.
3. Burmese star tortoise - A critically endangered Asian tortoise that lives in dry forests and grasslands. They are kept in a number of zoos worldwide and are being successfully bred in captivity. They can live in outdoor enclosures.
4. Red giant flying squirrel - A cat-sized squirrel that can glide up to 150m; it could be possible to make them as a habitat animal, simply extending the jump distances between areas on a climbing frame and making them glide instead. They have been kept very recently, including in a walkthrough display at Singapore Night Safari.
Exhibit. Comet - A tropical coral reef fish from Southeast Asia, which is quite predatory and so can be kept by itself. They are one of the reef fish that is easiest to breed in captivity.
Scenery would include various sun, moon, stars and planets models and outlines, telescopes, small decorative pieces like notebooks and foliage would include plants with planets in their names, like the Venus flytrap and Neptune grass.
