The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt

Happy to wait so it rolls out without any issue. Utter faith in them to do things right. I'm going to start another playthrough soon as it drops.

Haven't had a chance to play the new patch yet. What is this alternative movement I see in the list about?

Geralt reacts a bit faster to your mouse movements - just a faster turning rate kind of a thing. I don't like it personally, it feels weird.

Ok got it thank you. I had it in my head that it was an extra form of movement for evading blows or something.

Got to play this tonight and maybe it's just me but does anyone else think its a little "jerky" when moving the camera now? I had it very smooth in 1.06 and previous patches but this one seems to have introduced a small but noticeable judder for me.

I have also restarted another play through and it's still as as good as the first time through. Going for a much more sword based build this time, last time I was purely sign based, so this time I'll spec it out with max in the fast attack tree with a few of the signs maxed also. I'll get that cat armour if it's worth a look also.

Finished the Witcher 3 last week, and think it's easily one of the most memorable games I've played. I'm not a very emotional kind of person, but there's many scenes that moved me; particularly certain interactions between Geralt and Ciri, and crushing Yennefer's heart (optional). Still keep thinking about the storyline and the decisions I made, weighing the consequences.

I watched the 'worst' ending on YouTube, and am very glad I didn't end up with it. Can't remember the last time an ending made me feel that sad and melancholic. A true masterpiece, in other words, though thankfully I got the happiest ending in my actual playthrough.

P.S. In case someone missed the cinematic trailer, enjoy:

I wish I could go back to .06 because I have lost all kinds of frames. It's unplayable for me right now. Unless I turn everything Off/Low and then it looks likes complete ass.

This really blows, I did a long stint just yesterday before the Update, and was just completely deflated today trying to continue.

This is ridiculous, especially running on a 290X.

No spoilers please :D

Yeah, a lot of people complain about the patch. It also reduced performance for me, however I've installed the latest nVidia hotfix driver and that sorted it (I'm on GeForce 970). The judder may be related to Foliage Visibilty Range setting - try to reduce that under Graphic options. Also Shadows - these 2 are the most resource demanding settings. For me reducing it to High from Ultra made a huge difference.

A thing that doesn't make sense to me in the new patch is that they've introduced the chests to store your stuff, but they've also reduced the crafting components weight to 0, so you basically don't need the storage chests anymore... and it's not very realistic (30 iron ore pieces doesn't weight anything, riiiiight). Also, in Dandelion's *cough* inn, they placed the chest... on the stage where minstrels perform, despite a lot of other empty, not used and much more convenient spaces in the building. Just plain silly.

Not to mention typos and grammar errors for the new stuff (sorting filters for example), at least in the Polish version.

It looks to me that they've rushed the patch out and didn't test it properly before the release. A bit shocking to be honest.

If you use GOG Galaxy on a PC you can roll back to 1.06 from there, not sure about other platforms.

Thanks for that piece there :)

I noticed the patch rest my key binds it's entirely possible the graphics options have reset also so I'll play with those later again. Should have checked really doh.

By the way the second playthrough is just as good as the first one :)

I'm still about 55-60% progress with the main quest. I was waiting 2 weeks for that new patch and I spent Sat evening (well, night, more like) and most of the Sunday reinstalling the mods and playing with the settings. I was able to run custom above Ultra settings (via manual user.settings file edit) and get 40-60 FPS (depending on the area), but now I have to run everything on Ultra with Foliage on High and I get 32-40 in Velen and 40-ish - 55 in Novigrad. Didn't test Skellige yet.

You can make this game looking absolutely insane, but you need a really powerful rig for that.

I'm now nearly done with Novigrad and after that I'll be moving over to Skellige to finish off the main quest. I don't want to do too many of the side quests, I'm saving that for the future when I test the performance and make a stable and reliable mod setup. Then it'll be time for a proper long-term playthrough :)

Sounds like a plan. Playing the game by area clearing each one then moving to the next doesn't seem to be quite the thing to do. I found I'd completely outlevelled a lot of quests when I moved on after area completion.

This time round I'm going to move and do quests according to level when green no matter where it is and keep a close eye on the main quest levels also. The game is huge and the main story is huge so I think this might make for an even better experience.

That's why I use the XP mod - gives you the correct amount of XP no matter of your character level, which then allows you to do quests in the order YOU want rather than forcing yourself to run around the map according to quest colour codding... That's just silly. It's an open world game that kind of forces semi-linear game play.

Check my modding guide - it's all there :)

If anyone has a link to download 1.06 please share. I've done everything I can (and listen, I've been gaming and building PC's longer then some people have been alive) and it looks like my only relief will be to reinstall (hooray for box set) and get back to 1.06, except, I don't have the patch, and haven't seen evidence of a selective upgrade through GoG client.

And for the record, through no change other then 1.06>1.07 I've lost 50% fps and have the dreaded Stutter of Doom.
PIIX965 3Ghz, 4GB RAM, Raptor, DC2-290X

Broken and demoralized. Because I know I should build a new MB, but.. it was working GREAT before 1.07 and every other game I play is still stellar performance.

I've read one guy complaining that he's lost 100hrs of game time in a week of playing. He Just Started, a week ago.

Well, I've 45hrs, Level 13, just got two bad ass Relic Swords (Wolf and Blood<something>) after my full Griffin Set, and I started playing on Release... what? Months ago! So think about time invested there. As precious as it is in the real world. The PAINNNNN....

It's even more bitter then what's happened to ED. /burp

Please help a mate, and source a 1.06 patch file please. I fear unless a miracle 1.08 happens soon, I may loose all hope in HUMANITY. Wherefore I must reinstall, and need 1.06, the gods so decree it.

I use GOG galaxy. There is indeed a rollback option for you to go back to 1.06.

I played around with the various settings and speaking for myself I'm still getting the slightly noticeable stutter especially in cutscenes. I like 1.07 for the things it's brought but I may rollback myself.

It's in the drop down menu next to the play button. Configure ...then turn off automatic update and scroll down a little you should see an option to choose 1.06.

Hope this is right doing it from memory at work.

It is definitely there though I dithered over changing back last night with it.
