The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt

This is what first Witcher game was to the West - mostly unknown name from some unknown studio. You'd be surprised to know that in Eastern Europe - especially in Poland, Ukraine and Russia, first Witcher was very welcome and long awaited project. Lots of people know and love the literature, and even TV mini series :) I'm sure many people were familiar with the topic here in western countries, but the real explosion of popularity happened when games(particularly second) came out.

Yes, very true. The first Witcher game was an absolute smasher in Poland, as the books are one of the most popular Polish saga. The games are continuation (unofficial) of the books and the first one was co-written by Andrzej Sapkowski, the author of the Witcher saga (7 books in total), thus retaining style, humour and atmosphere of the literature. The 2nd and 3rd games were not co-authored by him, but they still keep up! If you liked the style of writing, humour and general flow of the games' story, you'll love the books!

Ah, please don't mention the TV mini-series it was a disaster :D

I love the CDP history!
Watch this 3 part documentary from Gamespot.

I actually liked mini series a bit, it's my guilty pleasure :) Obviously it doesn't do justice to the magnificent books. Also, seems like Sapkowski hated it himself.

Yes, pretty much 99% of the fans thought it was horrible, including Michał Żebrowski as Geralt and that pathetic golden dragon :D

My modding guide is now updated to work with 1.22 game version! Some redundant mods were removed, some were added and a few things were changed. The guide is fully usable now, however the following sections are still a WIP:

* In Game Mod Configuration
* Mod Hotkeys

That means that you will have to configure the mods using in game menus yourself and also not all of the hotkeys will work, however the essential ones are working now and it's clearly stated which ones are still not configured.

Enjoy!

Thanks!

Btw under your Lighting and Weather section you could add the Super Turbo Lighting mod (http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/657/?). I use it and it provides a much needed change to some of the various lighting conditions and it's compatible with 1.22 AFAIK.
Also, Atmospheric Nights (http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/1305/?) has just been updated to 1.22. :)

Thanks for the recommendations. STLM - I'm aware of it, but I want to play with vanilla lighting first. It seems to be toned down compared to back in a day, but I'll definitely look into it!

As for Atmospheric Nights - not sure how I feel about it. Witchers generally could see in the dark, so it makes sense for the nights to be bright - and I'm quite a purist when it comes to Witcher lore. I'll need to load it up and see how it changes the game.

I have some other mods in the queue to test, but I think I'll hold fire now until I'm back from my holiday. I just really wanted to get the guide to be usable with 1.22 again before I go. It will be updated with new mods for sure though! :)

Whenever I see someone saying their ReShade preset makes the game look like the E3 demos, I just roll my eyes. The *only* thing that can make TW3 look like the E3 demos are the assets withing TW3. But since STLM does numerous changes to the lighting, it actually comes pretty close to the 2014 demo. :) And since I just hated the downgrade thing, I'll use whatever available to make it look like the demos I fell so much in love with.

About Atmospheric Nights.... Fair point. :)

Revisited a place today. I sometimes think about what happened to this poor family... It is probably the saddest place I've ever visited in a game, and it's not even part of any plot.

First time I found this place I was curious to what was inside. A man had hanged himself....

...and there were children's toys laying around. But when entering the house....
