there really is no need for this, as most have found, except for pirates, pp enemy npc's can be easily avoided. they wont go after you until you are within a certain range. circle around your destination when you see them all lined up. if you are dumb enough to fly right by 4 enemies lined up, stopped, and waiting for you, you deserve to be interdicted.

You're right, no there isn't, but this if for people who can't/won't/don't want to, deal with the interdiction system at all. Using the above the most interdictions they'll have to suffer is one, at the end of their journey when they have to re-lock their true destination. Although this too can be avoided by decelerating to sub 1000km, cancelling the FSD jump and then dropping out of Supercruise (double tapping Y in other words), thus de-spawning all nearby ships.

I'm sorry but I can't understand why do people need signs, big red text and maybe some audio to figure out that they can't park their car to the same place where another is already parking. Are these the people microwaving their cats to make them dry? (Yes there's a warning for that...)

Ok, I'd originally wanted to be less harsh, but it just kept coming, sorry.

More to the point. I really can not understand this, because for me half if not more of the fun comes from figuring out what's what when playing ANY game (where applies). Exploring the game as it were. (Not talking about ED exploration)

Sometimes I feel bad after watching a yt video of a new feature (eg. a ship in ED) because I would have liked much more to discover it myself.

What is this even supposed to be a response to? Are you making an argument that the game should not be accessible for new players to get into? Or that it's just something to "fun discover" when the FSDI fails to function with no indication as to why?

Oh, exactly right here.

It seems the issues you have with reading comprehension extends to your own posts, as well.
What you said wasn't clear at all, guy. You seem very upset about this whole thing. You should probably take a step back and take a deep breath. It's just a game.

There is a definite bug with interdictions. It's stopped working since the update for many people. I had a 95% escape rate and now I have zero and same for my assaults (it did appear to improve late last night).

Err, well if you and your friends have paid for the beta, you're all getting the full game for free like it or not! The one thing I don't like and I'm sure that it would help your friends, is there's no real tutorials or in-game help. It's all "go and watch these YouTube videos". Not good enough really.

Spot on. There needs to be an in game tutorial for EVERY SINGLE FUNCTION in the game. With audio commentary AND text based instructions on screen.

I don't think that works, I dropped out of cruise before he had chance to interdict and the sneaky plod then dropped right in front of me!

Duh, I'm terribly sorry, I read the thread. Not just the title ;)

But you're right, the interdictor behaviour is certainly a bug, it's been reported and let's hope it will get fixed soon. It's still a beta test never mind how fancy name they call it.

I don't dispute the frequency (which i admit has ramped up a bit) as i have picked up a dormant bounty and have seemingly offended some powerful faction somewhere.
It does however seem harder to evade them. I think someone before mentioned no longer being able to evade the interdiction and my own success rate has dropped to about 0% in my fully tricked out viper.

I'll tell you, as somebody who works in the training field and instructional design, it makes me nuts that some features aren't explained. Hell, an in-game manual would be nice as a minimum, if not a training, but the formula for success is "Will somebody need to know this? If yes, is it explained? If no: Fix it"

The game has a lot of text interface so it wouldn't be a problem to just add a basic step-by-step. This game has a lot of barriers to general player appeal, from the Safe Disengage range and speed being such a crawl to Rare Commodities to Equipment Rankings. I've been playing on two weeks and I'm not even if I can see my ship's stats anywhere on my console; what are my shields, my armor value, etc.

Not at all. I have been having no problems with interdictions.

Why do people respond with things like this? "I don't have that problem". Well, good for you; there are plenty of threads out there about people who don't have this problem.

If there's a rash of car thefts, do you go up to somebody who's had their car stolen and say "Yeah, but...my car wasn't stolen, so...are you sure?"

After this latest update, I seem to get interdicted annoyingly often - regardless of what may or may not be in my cargo hold. The Alliance Security forces in my home system (Gateway) are roping me in 2 or 3 times just on my way to Dublin Citadel, citing "Every ship passing through Allied space requires a cargo scan".

I have a reasonably fast ship, and have little problem boosting my way back to supercruise, but the frequency of interdictions is an obnoxious time waster - especially when I'm already wasting time grinding out diplomatic missions.

This morning I'm returning to my home port in a wide zigzag loop. I'm traveling hundreds of Lys, peddling and hauling from one system to another. I've docked at least 12, and maybe 15 times, each in a different system, and I've been interdicted 5 times. So let's say we can expect interdictions of 35% to 40% of the time.

In each of the five interdictions, all I did was submit, boost, and re-enter SC toward my original target. I didn't have to chaff, didn't have to do very much to escape. And, in each case there was no second interdiction after getting back into
SC. The new rules make it much easier for us to continue productive play. It would be interesting to make this run a second time, to see if the interdictions only happen the first time we enter a system.

The problem with that is it just makes interdictions a time-eater and have no real purpose. That doesn't make for an engaging game mechanic.

that's the only problem I have with them tbh. Even if you stay around to fight, it's just a case of swatting an annoying fly and getting back to what you were doing. I wouldn't like to be interdicted by 3 Anacondas all the time, but something more challenging/purposeful than what we have at present would be nice. A threat scaled to your own ship's capabilities maybe.

Agreed, being interdicted by a sidewinder while flying a clipper is just annoying... A SIDEWINDER REALLY... and then the measly 400CR bounty is just insulting.
