BTW you are welcome to add other species from the rest of the game to the habitat, as long as the new DLC animal is highlighted / the habitat is mainly tailored towards them.
Probably a good idea, in case people don't want to get the DLC itself or can't for one reason or another.Sure you can choose the leopard if you want![]()
Ah yay! Glad to have you on board Annie!Yay, I'm glad the Zoolympics are backWhat a great way to keep the community of this forum engaged after the next DLC speculations are no longer a thing. Thanks Villanelle!
I would really like to join this time. And, surprisingly I'm thinking of building for the baboons first, mainly because I just started a new franchise zoo in African desert and they would fit right in.
Unless I'll find a good spot for the bear very soon in one of my existing zoos.
As for Markhor, I'm going to just add them to takins first, I hope they will have an interspecies bonus.
Let's just stick to one for the competition - but of course feel free to build them all and then submit your favourite to be judged? Can I Build For All The Animals In The Pack In One Build?
Haha wellll what you don't tell me, I don't knowThis sounds fun and like a really good idea
I'll probably join. I'm planning to build for most of the animals very soon anyways. Not sure yet for which animal I build in this case, but for sure not the pallas cat as I already have a habitat ready for them. Wouldn't quite fair to just enter with this habitat I guess![]()

Should be fine for me .. Gameplay wise I have wows 20th anniversary bonus xp starting 22nd/23rd, so that still gives me a week of concentrated zoo stuff before it starts. Otherwise I'll fit time in as neededThe gang is back together!
Would these dates suit everyone?
15th - 30th October
Okay, how bout another round of the Zoolympic Games to cheer us all up a bit, now that the end of DLC support may well be nigh?
Build a habitat for one of the new DLC animals (your choice which)
To start when the new DLC is out - and after Hurricane Milton has passed, for anyone affected by that. Hope you're all staying safe
We can discuss more specific timings here if any interest is shown
I'll tag all the usual suspects but anyone is free to join in!

Zoolympic Games: Round 5 - Zookeeper's Favourite
October 15th - 30th
Create a habitat for one of the new DLC or anniversary species as if you are their zookeeper and this is your favouritest zoobaby.
Specifications for this round:
- Possible species include the African Leopard, Pallas Cat, Markhor, African Spurred Tortoise, Kirk's Dik-Dik, Coquerel's Sifaka, Spectacled Bear or Hamadryas Baboon.
- One habitat only.
- You may include other species within the habitat, but the Zookeeper's DLC/Anniversary animal should be the highlight or 'main event'.
IMPORTANT!
- If you submit an entry, you are kindly requested to join in the scoring. Here is an explainer of why this is so important.
- Use the template here to submit your entry. There is also a link in the first post of this thread to the template.
- Message me here if you have any difficulty accessing the template.
- You can submit anytime on the 30th October in your own timezone, i.e. midnight on Oct 30th wherever you are. But please don't hurt yourself
If you are nearly finished and you need one more day, just message here and it will be granted. Just make sure you let us know so you are included in the scoring.
- Please ensure you submit lots of good screenshots showing the whole build. There is advice in this presentation guide.
- Builds that do not meet these specifications, or that are too difficult to judge, will be scored at 50% of their total, i.e. only receive half points. This is to reward the effort that goes in to creating good submissions and to compensate for the difficulty of judging poorly presented entries. I will let you know if the submission is below quality and give you another opportunity to submit.
