Theme Park Queues

Love the pictures above, I would really enjoy some very realistic que lines for sure. I think it would be a nice attention to detail item.

I don't know what you are saying how a queue must be but this is how it should be:

i love everything in this tread. in RCT3 i started out with looooong queue paths and shortened them as the ride aged and guests interest declined. but that's a very boring micromanagement requirement, and it's silly to have to 'rebuild' queue paths like this. Queuing that can be staffed to action shortcuts (and of course much narrower or flexible widths paths) would really improve this.

Single-rider / fastpass queues would be great also. the single-rider is a guest trade-off : do we really want to ride together, or will we forgo that to get more rides from a shorter single-rider queue?

fastpass is trickier i imagine as there are at least two types; the 'reserve your place in the queue' style (free) at Disney or the 'i've got the cash and just want to jump the queue' style at Universal.

[i nearly fell off my chair reading the posts about 'south of the border' queuing issues at disney. lol indeed don't get me started i might blow a fuse. i'm sitting at disney's art of animation resort typing this :) so it's a bit current in my mind]

Oh, no one mentioned this from the third Dev Diary.

I'm super relieved that they're actual queues now instead of being the same width as paths. Speaking of paths, I like them too.

Might not be able to do cattlepens or indoor queues though, which would be a bit of a shame.

Should be able to - that was a feature in RCT1 so it'd be pretty odd if not. It does look pretty cool for a generic entrance though (maybe not so much from that angle, but from the front).

Based on the dev diary... and that alone (given we still have a long way until a finished product)... I don't think we are going to get fast-track or single rider queues. Or even full queues that we want like the ones above, but a tamed down version much like RCT3 was, but with a much nicer feel about them...

I hope to god I'm wrong and that we have a fast-track system to make more money and queues so long and full they burst... but the dev diaries so far haven't shown a massive number of people in the parks, like we thought from the first animation we saw of them flooding in..

Fastrack and single rider seems like a very optional feature considering how many other high-priority features are in development, but it would be cool. There's probably be an 'Entrance' sign if that's what they were planning though.

That actually just gave me a thought. What about the scrolling entrance signs like in every RCT? Where dey at?

They could do a smaller version like the little LED scrolling signs you get on some entrances. The main reason they were ugly was because they were massive and blocky (also Frontier made RCT3 so technically it is RCT, or at least very similar to it). I just feel like there needs to be somewhere for the ride name to go, otherwise if you were in the park you'd have to idea what you're entering.

I really hope for queue lines that look a lot more realistic. The path system works for some parts of the lines, but not for the areas of parks where you need to use as much of space as possible.

I think the queues should look like this. We would have a preset platform with this type of queue. It would be a concrete base with fences for the guests to walk through. I would hope if they do this they would also include the free-form path/build tool to lead the guests to these platforms.

It is kind of one of those "little detail" things where its not a huge deal if its not in the game. But it would be pretty cool to see more realistic queues that you would find in real amusement parks.
