There is no up.. or?

Is there no down? Typically, I find myself always positioning myself so that I am pulling up on the flight controls. I find that this also gives me better situational awarness as I can look through the cockpit windows.

Curious how you guys "interpret" the directions when you're in the rift.

I know exactly what you mean. I kind of 'decide' which way is up for a given situation.

To be honest, it's easier to be pulling back on the joystick to go "up" to bring something into view as my field of view is better topside than below due to cockpit canopy shapes.
