There maybe hope for multi-player stability

I don't see how Quantum Computing could improve Networking for ELITE (?)

You could play ELITE from a SuperComputer today - and still get a lousy experience due to Networking.
Increasing computational performance by any factor wouldn't change that. It'd still be hooked up to a lousy P2P framework.

PS.
It's funny, good Client/Server Games on well-maintained Servers ran flawless decades ago and allowed instances far larger than i.e. ELITE currently does.
Even on Networking connections that are utter junkyard relics compared to current Networking standards.

And yet, today folks can play even off 1GBit, super-low latency Fiber Optics - and experience a lousy Networking due to cheap, crappy and unreliable P2P architectures.
It's quite telling just how far the Industry Standards have dropped to squeeze the absolutely last penny of profits out of their products.

Are you crazy?

Keep FDEV away from quantum anything. Last thing I need is taking a bite out of my peanut butter sandwich and having Costa Rica burst into butterflies.
