There's a guy buying 100 dollar skins for players in CSGO. I want to return the favor

So I"m playing CSGO when a guy randomly starts buying expensive skins for everyone, I thought this guy is crazy but generous. I want to return the favor and buy Elite for him. (I know we can't gift but I'm sure there's a way around it.) I think he'll be a fine addition to this generous community. (I'm reflecting off my Fraternity.)

Any ideas, maybe get his email adress and buy the game using my money?

FD are working on having a gifting option in the store, which is good news as I want to give a copy to my brother for christmas!

There will be a gifting feature soon on the store.

Ninja'd.

So once again it turns out that this gem of a title is unknown to many. He had no idea of it's existence. But just after visiting the main page he was blown away. So he just outright bought it, and he's gonna go pick up a joystick at the end of the week. I think I for one just served my purpose. At least my reference carried enough weight. :)

Can't wait until this is implemented, I too want desperately to gift my friends. One of whom is as big of a space freak as I am. When I showed her, her jaw just dropped.

Any idea how soon? I would like to buy it for my brother, but I wanted to get it before 22nd Nov so he gets the last remaining beta benefits.

IMHO this is a HUGE problem for this game. I have seen absolutely NO publicity in the mainstream about this game. I certainly hope that Frontier is going to get a few marketing people on this, because as of right now, I envision release as all of the Elite dedicated players going " YAY! now I get to play for keeps" and not really seing any huge spike in players. SC is still a year and a half away from any real release, and they have over 600 thousand people pledged to the game. They are very good at the hype. I really hope Frontier gets their kit in one sock and gets to marketing this, or it will become the betamax of space MMO games.

Well if you think about it, word of mouth seems to be working just as fine. Maybe Frontier will shed out the millions later on, but for now everything here seems to be well enough. But I couldn't agree with you more nonetheless. Even though we get that one thread occasionally from a new player explaining how the game is too hard, imagine getting a whole slew of these. Suddenly thanks to Elite not being as simple as ABC, people go elsewhere and slander it. Remember the initial version of Elite when it was submitted to publisher? It was thrown out because it was not up to par when it came to simplicity. Elite has survived thanks to it's uniqueness and by the faith of it's loving player base. It's beloved by those who show great interests in it. So I can almost see why this game does not get the recognition it deserves, simply because it's brings to the table something completely different from the common video game. To the uninitiated, Elite has the capacity to deter fresh players who have not a single clue where to start. As for the rest it's a simple walk in the park. Regardless, the majority of Gamers aren't entirely ready to be introduced to another game far off the map from what they already know when it comes to gaming in general. So for now I say to save the money, and allow the players to refer Elite by word of mouth. It's safer that way, and it's cheaper.
