These messages won't stop showing up.

Well, ok, you are participating. But you are of course aware that without completing initial assignments you are not going to earn any ranks?
Yeah, powerplay doesn't pay well enough to worry about ranks. You shouldn't need weeklies to rank up anyway.

Wait, did FDEV ever actually track the issue tracker? I've only been playing half as long as you have, so I've never seen it. I figured it was like the buttons at crosswalks that are just there to give people something to push so they don't freak out, but that don't actually do anything anymore.
I agree, It's a truely horrible system. 🧓Once... in the good ol' days... Cmdrs were told of the Top 10 acknowledged issues... and the list 'tracked' every few weeks as fixes were prioritised and rolled out! (iirc it graced twitch livestreams?) Cmdrs were happier, fretted less, and so voted/submitted 'issues.' It saved a lot of effort, duplicate posts here/elsewhere, and coordinated similar effort to help make EDO the best it can be. But then... stuffz... and Cmdrs were once again in the dark as to whether the placebo actually achieves anything or not?

Perhaps FDEV will update us here one day as to whether issue tracker is a 'ded game' or not?

As is, Issue tracker barely works with unexplained persistant "issue cannot be loaded," errors, thus many reports are unreadable and cannot be voted upon. I wish for an EDO Trello like I wish for a lottery win. So like much with EDO, I rely upon blind faith. I naively hold faith that surely an FDEV-dev must occasionally skim read all the new issue tracker reports, amongst all the same reports written here, on steam, reddit, and in replies to their x posts, and dismiss most plan a strategy to fix stuffz ie https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/67329

Ultimately, I only waste time with issue tracker when my gameplay becomes snafu, like now with the PPv2.0 beta we're all enduring, I'm up-to-date with this forum, other games and pc-life-tasks, my craptop needs to cooldown, and I can't be arsed to move and expend kcal. If it wasn't for the free 40 ARX per submission, I wouldn't ever use it frankly.

They're a low effort, one time tutorial intro to PPv2.0. However, I don't understand why achieving all 5/5 weeklies thereafter doesn't warrant a merit bonus? (edit:typo)

Powerplay feels like something that belongs in a different freemium mobile title.

I check Issue Tracker daily for VR-related problems and have done since the release of Odyssey - I can see reports getting Acknowledged by FDev and bugs getting fixed with the same sort of regularity that they did back when they still did the “Top 20” posts.

If you use the “Fixed” filter then you’ll be able to see the dates of the most recently solved bugs, though not all fixed bugs get updated quickly; for example, two of my reports have been fixed in Ascendancy but not closed yet.

18x VR issue reports that I’ve submitted since Odyssey released have been fixed, with 6x still awaiting a solution.

It only takes a few moments to add a Confirmation to an issue report, and what’s the worst that could happen? It gets Acknowledged and then Fixed? 😁👍

Ok, but just so you know, you're only required to do the set of those weekly assignments once after pledging (something like a test of your commitment) and then they are no longer required at all (message will also stop). And then you will rank up whether you care about it or not.

Over here we don’t have crosswalks just pelicans and toucans many of them aren’t at junctions and the buttons work otherwise the cars don’t get stopped. The elderly zebras of course don’t have buttons working on politeness and rules.
They also have dipped kerbs for wheelchairs, beeps for the hard of hearing and tactile paving for the partially sighted. And they’re named after animals. It’s just woke madness!

Be fair we can’t really blame the wokes most of it goes back long before their madness the Zebra Crossing started being called that shortly after they decided what colours to use back in the 1940s, Pelicans, a derivation from the long name IIRC, are from the late 1960s early 1970s.

I have to say I am not a fan of the trip hazard of tactile paving though.

I hadn't looked at that, thanks for the productive answer! Despite my negative Nancying, I do still use it. If nothing else, I can feel justified in complaining about the nothing that gets done about them ;)

Well, shut my mouth! FDEV cited an issue number in the upcoming patch notes!

Yes, they're a low effort one time tutorial that you shoudln't need to do in order to rank up.
