They are still improve the Performance ?

After a few Patches i tried to Play Odyssey again. Yes the performance got better , but not as good as it could be.
The AMD Fidelty Resolution is bad from Sharpness ..i dont like that.
They are still work to improve the Perfromance?

And i have a Performance Bug.

When i leave my Ship on a Spaceship it can be that the Performance get badly , then i have to leave Game and reload the save game.

Or when iam on a Planet ,,it can be that the performance getting on 0 or 1 Frames for a while.

When it works i have 50-75 Frames on Planet..i think thats not much for good Hardware
The Game is still buggy...thats sad . I hope they still work on that.

Next Update, according to the Livestream today, is due in September.

Greetings Commanders!

I'd like to introduce you to something new. Below is our first Top 20 Issues table, summarising the highest voted issues on the Issue Tracker. As part of being open and honest about the game's development, we'll be regularly posting updated versions of this table and discussing it on our Supercruise News streams.

Note: the status and planned release of each issue is subject to change as various factors affect the ongoing development schedule.

Top 20 Issues:

  1. Problems With Lighting and Illumination: We're happy to say this is now fixed since Update 6, having spent some time to monitor it afterwards. Any new issues to do with lighting should now be reported on the Issue Tracker as normal.

  2. Degraded Terrain Textures Compared To Horizons: A lot of the work for this went into Update 6, with some finishing touches coming in Update 7.

  3. Tiling Planetary Features: Changing the way planets are generated signifies a huge undertaking, so we're still investigating this.

  4. Low FPS Performance In Odyssey: This work will continue up to the end of the year, with improvements added already in Update 6, we know there is more to do.

  5. Limited Gameplay During Apex Shuttle Rides: Nothing to share at this time.

  6. Game Hangs On Exit Sometimes: Currently under investigation, we'll aim for the next update but it's one of the fixes more likely to end up in a later update.

  7. Invincible Thargoid Heart: We know this is a longstanding issue which has a complex cause. It's still being investigated and hasn't been forgotten. If you would like to contribute some information to this issue and others, please read this post.

  8. Anti-Aliasing Not Working Correctly: Some changes will go in Update 7 or 8, with significant improvements, but a full anti-aliasing system is slated for later this year.

  9. Joystick Buttons 32+ Not Working: Not started as other issues are prioritised.

  10. Expose Telemetry Data For Motion Simulators: We're currently discussing this internally, and may decide against it. If it does go ahead, it won't be before Update 8.

  11. NHSS Signals In Odyssey That Should Contain Interceptor Are Empty: Appears to be fixed, should arrive in Update 7 pending some further QA testing.

  12. Increased Performance Problems Since Update 5: Some further improvements are coming in Update 7, while general optimisation will be ongoing. The coming change won't be a fix for everyone, but will resolve some of the drops players are seeing.

  13. Supercruise Stuck At '0' Time Remaining With Tunnel Forming: Currently under investigation.

  14. Fleet Carrier Modules And Finances Not Calculated Towards Assets: In progress, slated for Update 7.

  15. NPC Fighter Kills In Conflict Zones Count As Progression: Currently under investigation.

  16. Support Missions Have Been Culled: Fix should be incoming in Update 7.

  17. A Previously Present Codex Entry Is Now Missing: Under investigation. Currently considered lower priority.

  18. System & Galaxy Map Misalignment In Widescreen Aspect Ratios: In progress, unlikely for Update 7.

  19. Stolen Tritium Cannot Be Donated Into A Fleet Carrier's Fuel Depot: Fixed, should arrive in Update 7.

  20. Missions and Rewards Not Sharing With The Team: Fixed, should arrive in Update 7.

This is a reflection of the current scenario, and due to the ever-evolving nature of game development, the planned release for these fixes is subject to change. Let us know what you think of this report below!

See you in the black Commanders,

Wow - just read this table - Are lighting and illumination really fixed?
Last I saw they increased gamma here and there but the core issue remained, which is every color/light/effect is way off!

The shield indicator has no bloom effect and has a muddy turquoise watercolor instead of a healthy energy look.
Then there are the purchased effects that don't work (like SRV wheels).
Did they fix the color hues of skins ?

They fixed very targeted issues but there is an overall issue with the renderer which they ignore.

Did you post your observations of the failings on the page the "top 20" was posted on?
It even stands a chance of a CM reading it 🤷‍♂️

FDEV has been known to optimize this game over time. Before Odyssey, Elite was actually very optimized and ran quite good on both PC and console. It doesn't forgive their shoddy release of Odyssey, but still have faith and give them time to fix it. They are known for making good on their promises.

There's always September somewhere on the Net. Hacker lore.

O7,
🙃

The lighting looks pretty reasonable to me - at least, when out in the black ;)
Link to preparing to jump in a Phantom:-

Streamed live, so no editing etc. - naturally 🤷‍♂️
There are stations where it's ridiculously bright.
Skybox is extremely dark with little details (unless in a nebula). While being "full of stars" as it is IRL is probably impossible due to technology, having it full black with a bunch of dots here and there isn't the bets either.
Sometimes the light changes suddenly with no reasons, just by moving the camera slightly. Relatively rare though.

The Neutron and White Dwarfs are certainly bright. I almost need my sunglasses on when I get to one of those systems, I do think they look good though. Fortunately, the glow darkens when you enter the FSS.

The light changes on approach to some planetary bodies too...

Oddly, in most stations, unless I'm in my Courier or Cutter, light seems pretty normal - but my Gamma slider is adjusted according to the recommended setting and, by the sound of it, is lower than many here imply.

Interestingly, my slider is much further to the left in Horizons!

No I'm speaking an issue when moving a meter on your left turn the planet into "full light", and moving back a meter turn it into "dusk". And you can do it back and forth.

Happened to me once or twice, it was very jarring.

As for your gamma, I can't even see the left symbol, and you are at 25% of default. I'd say that's an issue if you need to be that low :D

Yeah, light tend to move in interesting ways...

25% of default? More like 50% - if the slider was fully to the right it would truly be soot & whitewash! If you can't see the very dim decal, perhaps calibrating your monitor is needed - it is barely visible on that screenshot. (Yes, my monitor is calibrated correctly, thank you!)

The left image can't be seen on my monitor. To make it visible to me, the slider has to be almost as far from the middle marker to the right as yours is to the
left.
Aka nothing is consistent at all across the board, same as when it launched. They didn't fix it, they just changed the way it was broken.

Hmm.

We are kind-of basing the idea it's broken on how it compares to Horizons, naturally enough. But I don't think it's that simple, I think changing the WAY the lighting and the surfaces (PBR) interact changes everywhere and changes everything, unpredictably. Witthout Horizons existing, I'm not sure what any of us would think about it, good or bad. And things like skins were created to fit the colour and lighting as it was, switching to a new system just borks so much. So much so, if the new system with PBR had existed before the iridescent skins, they would have been created to work with that system.

Anyway, that's one issue. Things are different with the new lighting and light flow system.

My problem that suggests a deeper issue is dynamic lighting. It's broken now, but wasn't in the pre-alpha dev diary and trailer footage. What happened?

The video that first showed walking avatars inside a settlement, walking down a dark corridor and seeing out a window, the light dynamically increased brightness outside and the corridor interior dimmed, correctly. We, the viewer, were being blinded by the light outside.

Now however I can walk in similar low light outside and enter in to a darker area eg a darker settlement underpass, and instead of being able to see better, the light goes almost entirely black. Not because it's not being lit - it's as well lit as 2 or 3 feet away where the dynamic light effect wasn't plunging me in to darkness - but because the dynamic lighting is reversed for some reason. It's going darker when we should be adjusting to the lack of blinding light, and seeing better.

Similarly flying down to a planet near the terminator, as you approach the dark side is pleasingly adjusted with what appears to be warm ambient light. Which swittches off instantly at some point. It can even switch back on inexplicably, then off again.

It's late.
