They are still improve the Performance ?

So the bad Performance is still the Problem of Odyssey? Its still sooo buggy? See i that right? Frontier said they are going to improve the Performance till End of 2021 and nothing realy happened!? That so unbelievable. What i notice is, that my GPU Last ist at 50% but the CPU is going crazy somethimes up to 70% than down again and up. and down... It seems like it is using now more CPU than GPU....When will they fix the Performance Problems?

Performance in Odyssey HAS improved since launch, significantly from what I gather from those poor souls who have been here since launch. I find it runs just fine on my 3060 (steady 60fps capped) and runs reasonably well on Geforce Now (the equivalent of a 2080 Super) at 45-60 fps (depending on the settlement). Of course, the game should be running much better than that, but there has definitely been improvement. Frontier said there are more improvements coming in Patch 10, along with bux fixes etc etc. Long short: the game is in a much better condition than it was at launch and I personally find it a lot of fun to play now.

Well, the Performance got better since release Version, thats righr.. but its still terrible. With frs on it runs better but its still a pain. That Game is terrible unoptimized. They should fix it finaly. I have always a ahort time heavy CPU Load which is switching all time from 20- 70% an de GPU Load is only 50- 60 % in FHD on Ultra. Well, it seems that the Game running into a CPU Bottleneck...They should finaly fix it. Its no Fun to play it that way

I think it feels a bit more fundamental than it not being optimised. It's not a corridor shooter and quite a lot of the situations you're in won't really benefit from a bit of extra culling. The whole thing is very odd. Personally, I get decent-ish frame rates now, but it feels like it's on the limit.

"Significant" is a word that was dropped from FDev's lexicon over the updates, and it's certainly not a word that I would use either on my i5-7500/1060 setup. It has improved, but from "pretty terrible" to "slightly less terrible". Unless you find ~40 FPS on an empty planet acceptable, that is.

Edit: For comparison, the average empty planet in Horizons gives me 120 FPS on the same settings (slightly altered "High" preset, no up- or downscaling, vsync capped).

That's the Point and its dissapointing that after that long time after the Release, the Performance is still bad. Thats so crazy that my 3700x has up to70% CPU LOAD /USAGE and the GPU just 54%. That Game got NONE of optimiziation and it seems that FD have no idea how to can fix it

They have improved it over the releases. It may not meet the expectations of maximum warp at ultra settings using low GPU and CPU load but it has been improved.

They might have improved the Performance but nothing you can enjoy ..there are many other games outside who have better Grafics and they run perfectly compared to Odyssey...FD should tell us if they still working to improve or not ?

Then your going to be disappointed. The rest of us will just make do with how it works now and enjoy it. Have fun!

Enjoying it ? Enjoying that this Game is still a Beta? That Performance is a joke? Right i cant enjoy that...i hope they will improve the Performance much much more with the next Update

Is it objectively better than the launch? Yes.

Does that mean performance is good now in and of itself? No. Being slightly better than atrocious is still pretty bad.

Then again, I've come to find that 30fps Medium is what many Elite players consider as the "sweet spot" so i guess from their perspective performance is now "fixed."

EDO is not doing anything in terms of graphics that requires a high-end card. It's not Cyberpunk 2077. A 1060 6GB should handle it as well as Horizons. On a 3060 it should be running like greased lightening. And yet it doesn't and we're nine updates into a game where the #1 issue by far since launch has been performance. Almost none of the low hanging fruit has been addressed. FDEV shouldn't need outside developers to tell them that culling isn't being done or that their smoke shaders are garbage. These things should have been fixed already.

I'm not a game developer but I do have decades of experience in developing corporate software. EDO strongly resembles projects I've seen where the top developers have departed and only second-stringer (at best) code monkeys, who can't understand or fix the main problems, are left tinkering around the edges making minor improvements. These projects always end up failing unless management wakes up, hires the needed talent, and commits to paying for it. I don't see that happening here.

It's time to face reality. EDO will not be fixed, and the console players should just give up waiting.

It's almost not worth responding to this wildly non substaniated post, but I cant resist. Your hard evidence please for these statements would be good to see. Do you know how hard it is to write shaders? Do you know how much processing is needed to do the work? What basis of fact do you have to accuse these people of incompetence?

Well, we can see that switching from 'off' or 'low' to 'medium' or any higher FX quality setting uses a radically faster shader for smoke effects (which may be the one from Horizons), that also look better, and that this has been the case since the alpha.
