third party tools required for mapping ? or any advice

Hey Cmders this may have been asked b4 , but i would like to find a tool which could recreate say another bubble in space like a overlay color for those who only have the tool installed.
Hope this makes sense.
and every time a new system has been mapped the boarders stretch even further.

Also would like something to keep track of my findings and discoveries and systems i have traveled as i play in VR and taking the head set on and off gets a bit repetitive.

over all just any mapping knowledge would be help full

There ws a mod available that edited your Visited Stars filter to include every single explored system in EDSM. It only worked on PC, so unfortunately, FD disabled it as it was deemed to give an "unfair advantage" to PC players.

Other than that, AFAIK EDDiscovery still has a 3D Map function and is able to download and process the entire EDSM Database : https://github.com/EDDiscovery/EDDiscovery/releases

That might be as close as you can get for all I can tell.

Yes, from what you've written EDD will most probably meet your expectations. You'll get 2D and 3D maps of all your logged travels (even retrospectively) as well as charts detailing your scans (types of planet and stars, expected payouts) and many other features.
