This game is buggy as HELL.

Trying to build a water ride. The path fights with the water level. I figured out it all needed to be on water. Fine. Why does the water level fight with the path? Lower the water the track Is exposed. Let me ask some simple questions. 1) If you were going to build a water ride... wouldn't you put the DOCK (station) on LAND with the boat in the water? Do I need to build a marina? 2) WHY WHY WHY are there so many constraints on everything? This is a GAME! If I want to build boats in the desert on top of trees... WHY THE HELL CAN'T I? 3) WHY is there not a world grid? Everything that I build, I would like to match up with paths. I'm never going out of my way to take something more than 15 degrees off kilter. 4) What ever happened to setting an in game level for things. water, land base, etc...
You folks have introduced some GREAT TOOLS into this game, but you have surrounded them with reasons why they just don't work. Stop shooting for realistic physics, and start shooting for creativity and FUN.

Which ride is it you are trying to build? Currently only one of boat rides in the adventure pack needs to be on water, including the station. Some will want to build on a lake without seeing the channels of water. There are two types of boat in the Adventure pack, one is for water only and one can be build on land and comes with the water channels, which would allow you to build it on a mountain. The rest of the water rides in the game do not.

The water level is set when you place the water, you can see visually the green lines at the levels it can be placed in the hole. Some restrictions are there for realism which some players actually want, so Planet Coaster has to balance keeping everybody happy. I am moving this to how do I? However if there is a recreatable bug here, be sure to report it in the bug report sub-forum. [happy]

In terms of the water side, it may be also worth looking into the collision settings in Settings > Game as certain collision types can be disabled.

As for the grid, the game is designed for both grid and non-grid items which is why there isn't a global grid.

Yep... BUGS.

Hey, Shane...
Well, after 2 days of screaming and beating the monitor and deleting things and starting over... I finally got it to work. Had to raise the height of the station by half a click. Yes it is the one water ride that requires water. So... I spent hours decorating the banks, laying a section of track at a time, being extremely careful, eyeballing that water. I have water, I have paths, my track is in the water and so is the boat. FINALLY! I build and build. Then I save the game. When I reload it... the water is GONE. I check all of my previous saves... the water is GONE. I check the auto saves... the water is GONE. I can put the water back, but not at the same level, so my track is above water, and my boat's propeller resembles a plane flying backwards. It's in the air. I originally thought that I put this thread in the suggestions section, and I appreciate you trying to help, but this is worse than I thought. I have over 200 hours in this game, and every one of them was a hard fought mess. I get the realism thing, but I think this is a bit past realism. Honestly, this being a game... I ought to be able to sail this boat half in the ground down the middle of main street. This ain't rocket science. I stopped playing Kerbal Space Program right before I started this game. I was hoping for something slightly easier... and more fun. Please look into fixing this. I would really like to finish the water ride next to the Mayan pyramid being invaded by space aliens. Thanks!

If you have a bug, pleae report in the bug sub forum with details of reproduction so Frontier staff can address it. [happy]

Not accessable from the park entrance.

I am constantly being told not accessable from the park entrance, yet the staff enter and leave no problem. Why does the path connect if the building is then not accessable? I also get a lot of your guests are trapped too, they arn't, they are just all crowding in one space at times for some reason. I love this game, but I do wish they would tweek it a bit. I am no-where near as keen as you to try and attempt connecting underground or water involved rides. Way too frustrating.
