Community Event / Creation Thrustmaster Warthog Configuration & Sheets

I think that joy 29 might be when you lift the throttle out of the gate. I seem to remember that this is needed in the start up procedure for DCS A10-C

Now the game is released, I wish they would add all the system on/off switches as kb shortcuts, so we would have a use for all these switches. Think of silent running. It would be so cool. ;)

I don't know if you've seen it, but this thread - https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=52342 has some cutouts for the MFD panels done by NC Sarge which may interest you.

Thanks, I'll have a look. I've installed working 8" displays behind my TM MFD panels, so I can't use any cardboard cut outs. But I can use the images!

Guys, I am sorry (crap third post here) but how do we get an editable version of the png file that is listed on the front page? I tried a few online editors and they didn't work. Sorry but I couldn't slog through nine pages of this as of yet. Also, on a side note, the J button for some reason is binded to my TM HOTAS Warthog but it does not work in game. I keep getting an audio error that is telling me "Unable to comply." Any thoughts? Thanks all!

EDIT: Ok, it seems to work now when going to warp, using the custom bindings posted here. But now I cannot get out of warp... Odd.

Hey The Pfhor
Have a similar problem. I can go into warp, i come out of warp but i stuck then in supercruise and can not stop the ship. Perhaps its better to configure the whole warthog with the Target Software.

Greetings Antonio

Yeah, it’s weird, huh? I am running the profiles and settings provided, using the TARGET software, at the beginning of this thread. Maybe I will just completely rewrite it and see if that fixes the problem. Anyone else having this same problem, and maybe has found a fix?

Hi all

I've just updated the front page with new images, custom binds and target profile. This is the first time I've had chance to fire up the released game and have a look around. There have been a few tweaks to what I originally ran with, which may sort out some of the issues you've been experiencing.

Disclaimer: I've not actually had chance to do anything more than the training missions so far,so not 100% sure if the frameshift changes will work correctly. <-- I've now managed to get a quick hour in the world and everything I've tested so far has worked fine, including the change to the frameshift. Hopefully I'll get a little more time in over the xmas break.

I've updated the video on the first page now. It's not radically different if you've seen it before. But it's updated with the latest binding walkthrough.

Hello Mike and everyone else who is helping out here,

Thanks for all your efforts!

I tried to follow your video and do the settings within ED, but I got stuck at the point where you assign "Decrease Senor Range" to 'Joy 29' (around 8:26 in the video)... What button/switch are you actually activating there?

I am unable to locate 'Joy 29' on the Throttle pad... On the diagram it shows 29 as the right throttle.

Thanks,

Dirk

I've checked this, now I've created a new set of profiles, images and video and it does still map correctly for me. It's the "Down" on the "MIC Switch" on the throttle. Now I've updated the custom binds file, try using that to start with before you change your other settings and let me know how you get along...

I just used the standard templates and threw something together in Photoshop. I've included both the blank templates and my photoshop files on the first post now.

I just want to thank you for all your work on this Mikey!! Plus rep from me :)
.
I received my Warthog yesterday and had planned on working with Gurney's setup, but ended up having some issues (mainly I couldn't get the profile to show up under the controls menu). I was desperate to get rolling a bit and your config files and profile got me up and in game to the training missions.
.
I still want to dig into TARGET and figure out how it works, but after a week or so of just reading forums I wanted to play! I still may tweak some settings to get it to what I think I will be most comfortable with, but it was one great start. I look forward to the day I have time to learn the target coding to take advantage of the multiple layers and such. :)
.
Thanks again!

Wow Mikey !! Thank you very very much for your great update.

i received my warthog last tuesday and since there i tried everything to figure it out on my own. i printed the Target Manuals, checked all Forum. But after 13 hours of work you are simply too tired to understand everthing in Manuals and Forums. And with my first own Profile which i made last Weekend it was a wonder that my ship didn`t just explode immediatly or the complete universe :).

So again thanks very much u saved my Christmas Holidays and i can simply start into the universe. Should you ever come visit Berlin / Germany the big Drinks on my bill :).

Merry Christmas to you and to everyone following this Forum.

Antonio

Thanks for the help and the profile. I do have a question though. When I hit the switch to deploy landing gear I lose total control on the stick, and thrust until the gear is down and the voice says it is down. Same issue when hitting the switch to raise the landing gear. lol I raised the gear at the same time as I gently thrust to the left, and upon doing so I lost all control while stuck thrusting to the left and crashing into the side of the station lol. (thank God I was in training mode testing the config) Is this a common issue, or am I doing some thing wrong?

Just a note regarding the configuration for YAW if you don't have pedals. :)
.
I edited the throttle configuration in the TARGET software to put my YAW on the boat switch (9 and 10 on the thruster handle) and set them to hold. For me it made sense to make Right forward and Left backwards. Once I did that, I went into the configuration in game and added the keys from the virtual keyboard to YAW discrete for flight. I happened to use Z and C.
.
Works great when I need to tweak my angle when landing.
.
I also had an issue where reverse throttle didn't seem to work along with backward thrust. By using the TARGET editor I figured out where they were mapped and added them to the configuration in the game. Then I made a backup of the config file too.
.
Thanks for you work again Mikey! :)

Greetings to all :
A wonderful and amazing job.
I've some doubts after seeing the new video ( and also reviewed and printed both charts ) , probably because the spoken English is not my strong ...... sorry.
My doubts are:
- If I understand correctly, the charts are updated, being well and if I take it as a reference , ¿ because there are commands that are not mapped in the profile? Example: Engine boost
¿ Should they be mapped separately in Elite Dangerous ?
- Why, in the video, I see you've mapped in Elite Dangerous commands in different buttons regarding the charts ? Example: Engine boost in the charts is in button 15, while in the video, this button, you've mapped in Elite for UI panel
-¿ Should I take it, then, that the video is only one kind of example ?
- ¿ Should I map ALL commands in Elite, regardless of the profile , in Target GUI , should be running ? (By reference to the charts)
Sorry, is that, surely, my doubts are products of my ignorance of the language, so I ask for help to address this issue in the most accurate way possible.
Thanks in advance

I'm sorry.........I've been reading the thread and mapping everything in Elite and I've come to understand why I looked so............had not taken into account the custom.binds.
I've precipitated ........ sorry

ATTENTION .....EDIT : By the way......I think there are two mistakes in the profile ; the commands "Cycle previous subsystem" and "Use chaff launcher" are assigned to the same letter , the letter U...........by other side , according to your charts, assigning "thrust back" to button 8 , controls of Elite assigns as joy 32 , which is used by "deploy heatsink" ..............¿ What can you say me about this ?

Greetings
Also I've done so..........what I wonder is whether MikeyTT has done so for some reason or simply a mistake.
There , too , an aspect that I would comment with respect to Hotas Warthog , compared to those who don't have pedals ( or can't use them for various reasons ).......¿ What would be for you , the appropriate controls for YAW and Thrust's ?.......with " appropriate " I mean an agile , natural , intuitive.......that management was not forced appointed for each finger having to use them......especially , when it refers to practice flight with flight assist OFF .
Another question , related to this last , would be , if the Warthog is an ideal HOTAS for flight assist OFF.......especially , after seeing what Isinona ago with a Fligth HOTAS-X.......¿ what do you think about this ? ( No doubt that the Warthog Stick is more accurate , but also , of "harder" touch )

Ok, complete noob here on Elite Dangerous.

I did back the game last year and got the lifetime expansion pack as well. I started playing the game in beta but kept getting random CTD when entering is it hyperspace when you jump from system to system? and didn't see the point in spending lots of my already limited time amassing credits just to loose them when the game finally released, so decided to wait till the full release came out.

So now I'm back to have another go. I do fly DCS online quite a lot so I am used to key bindings but BLIMEY........this game is complicated!!! so much so I'm ready to shelve it again. I have a TM Warthog stick and throttle, and pedals so would like to use them. I did see in the game that there seems to be a TM Warthog option in the controls tab but trying to fathom what is bound to what is headache material, and I can't find anywhere diagrams for this so I thought I would try the OP's GUI.

I got it loaded ok in TARGET but jezz..............now you also have to go through the lot in game and bind it a second time!!! do I understand this right?

Any help and a bit of encouragement would be very helpful here, before this goes on the back burner and is uninstalled.....

Thanks from a very confused noob!!!!

It's quite Warthog friendly now, unless you want to use the LEDs you can bind whatever you like (layers excluded).

I can't find a default sheet for you, but this thread - https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=21468 has a few player ones and a blank sheet you can use.

Hope that helps

Y

Saitek pro flight combat rudder pedals

Hi Mikey,
May I say you are a gentleman and deserve all the praise you get and more, for the work you have done on this Forum.

As I am new to the configuration lark I wonder if you could help me.
You mention in your video that you have Saitek rudder pedals and as I have Saitek Pro Flight Combat Rudder Pedals as well as the Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog Stick and Throttle, I was wondering if you could guide me with the custom bind file regarding these pedals.
I would like to use the pedals for Yaw.

Everything else in your video and instructions is as clear as day.
Thank you.
