Your Feature Request / Idea
Okay so i got this idea while discussing another thread but it made me think, aren't storms entirely too underwhelming at this point? They should really feel like calamities and right now they feel more like mild nuisances with less light.
So what i suggest is this.
The purely cosmetic part would be to create flashes of lightning and rolling thunder sounds should play appropriately to go with that.
The second part, that's tied with functionality is to actually have lightning bolts hit the buildings that get damaged by regular storms. This would be accompanied by appropriate flashes and sounds that are a bit different from the rolling thunder stuff as you can see the lightning, therefore it's close.
Lastly, i would perhaps suggest that either storms are made to last longer, with the exception of the twister for obvious reasons, or that we have some sort of option to do so, to truly make this event feel like a calamity that makes things go wrong. Some slight tweaks may be needed to dino comfort drop rates, or infact maybe not? Chaos should be a full possibility, and perhaps we can have different durations for storms, instead of a set one that we can always predict. Some randomisation and variables always make for more exciting gameplay and when you're not sure if this storm is going to last 5 or ten minutes you might actually have to prepare for it, keeping you on your toes.
Currently storms are really just a mild irritation that if anything creates busywork rather than feel like a true and intense calamity, so i think these changes will introduce some much needed spice to the game.
