Description
When riding the wooden coasters lift hill in 1st person view there is a weird thunk thunk noise that was not there before. I did not notice it on steel coasters because I have not tried a steel coaster in awhile.

Steps to Reproduce
Place or make a wooden coaster, ride in 1st person view.

I just tried a few steel coasters and I get that same thunk type noise on them except fot the power launched one.

I've heard this noise before as well when riding in 1st person mode. I won't be able to capture it on video. Can you capture it on video?

Hey Parkmaker, I have been unable to reproduce this issue. Can you please provide video footage of this happening as it will aid with our investigation. Thank you for reporting.

I made two:

this one shows the "bang" type noise on the steel coaster lift (all except the launched):

Here is the thump (thunk) noise on the wooden lifts, you have to listen closely but once you hear it you will hear it all the time:

None of my other games have anything like this sound as the audio in them and in videos are OK>

The noise on the wooden coaster is almost like a heart beat (thump thump). Any news? I stopped building coasters because of this since I can't make videos and separate it out since it is part of the coaster sound.

Since my last post, I have actually stopped playing the game as I mainly like to build coasters and make videos of them and this noise spoils it for me.

Hey Parkmaker,

Since the latest update 1.1.2, I no longer hear the thunk thunk sound, however, coaster sounds on steel track now sound faint or hollow (hardly any detail in the steel coaster sound like it used to be). Can you record and post a video of a steel (floorless or torque model) running on the track? The sound team is investigating further in this thread:

https://forums.planetcoaster.com/showthread.php/19555-Coaster-sounds-have-somewhat-disappeared-Park-music-and-crowd-sounds-now-seem-dominant

Here are three new videos and in each onr the sound is off - Build 1.1.2.37897

This one (floorless) has the banging sound on the lift as well as weird sounds along the track:

The next one a wooden coaster has that thump thump sound on the lift hill:

The next is a Steel Coaster (solid beam type) and the sound is just weird:

Thanks for uploading Parkmaker!

Hopefully this gets resolved by the wonderful sound team as you have provided proof that coaster sounds have gone through a (hopefully) unintended change.

QA team, I wanted to reiterate that all steel coasters now have the same exact weird hollow sound as witnessed in Parkmaker's video above.

I certainly hope this is resolved soon as I only did these videos to show the problems. I am no longer playing the game as I no longer enjoy creating coasters for videos.

I think these thumping sound are supposed to be the sound of the wheels crossing the transitions between track sections.
The noise and their reverb effect matches what I expect these sounds to be like given the material and shape of the track of each of these coasters.

I had not noticed them since I play with the sound level quite low and often completely covered by music.

To me they don't belong there and you don't hear them on coasters in real theme parks.

It depends on the coaster, how it was built, who the manufacturer is, and how much effort was made to make the transition between the track elements as smooth as possible.
On most recent coasters, the noise of track transition is very low and is completely covered by other noises (like wind, regular rolling noise and and people around you screaming).
If you listen to Planet Coaster's sounds, you'll also hear lots of other sounds you normally wouldn't hear on real coasters such as transitions between top, bottom and side wheels and well as metal stress on parts with very high G forces.

I think the sound designer chose to make all the little sounds louder than they should be in order to show off his work.

In the recent Live Stream with Sam and Bo I could still hear that clanging sound on the steel coaster. Please get rid of it.

I have not been playing Planet coaster since the original post 12/21/16 as the noise ruins the game for me.

Nowhere do you hear that awful banging noise on this coaster (real coaster):

Or that horrible thump thump on this real wooden coaster:

I just checked after the latest update, the thump thump on the wooden coaster lift has been either removed or reduced to a negligible level as to be unnoticeable, however that Steel coaster noise is still present. That being said, I will not be playing until that noise is also taken care of.

It's disappointing that you'll potentially never play the game again due to the audio staff at Frontier making the coaster sounds even more realistic. I agree with BlackShark, the thump is transitions between track pieces, like trains on tracks. Giving the devs an ultimatum like that is a bit harsh.

My point being that those sounds are not realistic if you look at my videos of real coasters above. Sorry if it sounds a bit harsh, but that was not my intention. I am simply stating how it affects me. For me, those noises are a big turn off. I will say that otherwise they did a great job, but for me it is a game breaker.
