Time to click on Outfitting, just to check.....NOOO Cancel LAUNCH!!

THAT moment when you accidentally clicked on launch:
You were preparing to leave, but you wanted that final check over your mission parameters, to ensure you have the right cargo, equipment and destination.

JUST to make sure that you have not forgotten anything, but you accidentally clicked on launch (The menu option might as well state "Pilot has gone out to lunch!")

This is right up there with forgetting to buy limpets or a loop of shame.
And it is made worse when you have the advanced docking computer with autolaunch and autodock as you have to wrestle manual control back from the humiliation of having to 180 and ask for docking permission a-g-a-i-n.

I would petition for a "cancel launch" or a "are you sure you want to launch commander" but I would probably still launch out of shame anyway.
I've launched mining campaigns without a refinery, cargo runs without the cargo, assassinations without an interdictor, combat missions without weapons, passenger missions without a fuel scoop..... oh the degrading list is not too long, but the richness of humiliation is overwhelming.

Any other commander(s) brave enough to acknowledge doing this?

It's no big problem. Just logout immediately and log back in again, and you'll be sitting back on the pad.

I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve switched from a single-seat ship to one with an SLF hangar and left the pilot twiddling his thumbs in the crew lounge...

That’s the most annoying lapse I find, worse than forgetting the limpets because for some reason I can’t synthesise a new crew member.

You know how you have to thrust up to leave a planet? I think that should just be the norm. It's not an extra button or menu. Thrust up and wait. Stop and you're still docked.

I'm not sure how it would impact someone using the docking computer to undock. Let them use an extra menu if needed

Yep. I've done that more than once. Really annoying. I usually go find a mirror and yell at myself for the f'up.

Thx to the posters above for the tip of launch logging to fix the issue(s).

All it really needs is a cancel launch dialogue open and selected that you can activate and once you do that you will be brought to the surface and back to the station dialogue. Of course as soon as you leave the platform you are in flight and have to get out and back in again. That's the rules.
