Time to nerf exploration!!

So far the nerf gun has been taken to cargo delivery, war massacres, pirate massacres, passenger missions and almost every other way to make a decent amount of credits.

It is now time to nerf exploration to fetch it more in line with the terrible rewards for everything else. Especially the Road to Riches, it's pretty stupid that humanity keeps paying for the same scans of the same systems, it makes no sense whatsoever.

I propose the value of every stellar body be brought to 25% of what it is currently, explorers have had it so easy lately it's almost an exploit.

I'm going to take it your just joking or a troll. Or have never properly explored before.
Exploration doesn't make big credits for time vs credits.
On the other point I am getting sick of the nerfs. They should focus on fixing bugs etc

Developers taking their new player experience seriously enough to close loopholes that allow players to completely short circuit half the game. News, and apparently copious amounts of #salt, at 11.

There's been more poo flinging by this lot than from an entire jungle full of epileptic chimps on meth today.

And their arguments are less cohesive than the script for Hamlet that the aforementioned simians tried to sell to the BBC

but which was eventually bought by Ch4 to be their next right on (oops sorry that’s left on) flagship comedy replacing the last leg

Totally serious by the way. There's no risk for the reward, it is totally unbalanced. A new starter could upgrade their FSD on their first day, jump onto R2R and within the night they have a few hundred mil and they're almost at Elite rank for exploration. Compared to the previously nerfed missions where you had to at least have a grasp on game mechanics this R2R exploit is game-breaking.

And how long will it take to get that first 100M? I'll give you a hint, a LOT longer than an hour even with the RtR.

Exploration is fine.

There is risk, for noobs who haven't learned to scoop or perform neutron star boosts. While there are certainly credits to be made, the repetition alone will convince many to try another activity. Some players have even intentionally blown up their ship for a quick return. (I've personally considered it.) It takes a long time to earn those credits and 1 mistake can cost you many millions of credits and untold hours of time.

No nerf is needed.

Yeah OP why would I go exploring when I can just use previous places like Robigo, Quince, Passenger Missions, and now Skimmers Again (I missed original skimmers way back when). Exploration payout even with level 5 of Li Yong Rui bonus is a complete joke and a huge waste of time when i can blow up a couple skimmers and get fast millions.

People make credits from exploring? [haha]

I have over 21K systems explored and have probably made around... 400M from it.

Seriously, you should take a look at the R2R, just for the hell of it.

I gave it a try, just out of curiosity.
Typed in whatever random system I was in as the starting point and spent about an hour schlepping around, doing scans.
Cr100m! [woah]

Quite amazing, really.

Why not just create one nerf thread and collect all the complaints and demands there?
Fun fact: the first thing you do with and actual nerf gun after purchase, is buffing it by modding the spring or the air vent control. :D

That's fair, but you missed the second part of my post. I don't go exploring to make credits; I go exploring to play the game.

If they want to nerf the run or something, or have reduced payouts for frequently scanned bodies, I'm fine with that. Won't really affect me either way. Making credits is nearly meaningless to me at this point in my progression of playing the game, and I'm sure most who have been playing as long as I have have way more credits.

But anyway, thanks for the info and the additional point of view. [up]

I'm glad to see something that promotes exploration. I don't do it for the credits; I already have way more than I can use. These days, I mostly seem to be driven to leave my "first found" mark all over the galaxy.

I'd rather see more exploration related gameplay content. Some people still want credits for this or that or to just amass uselessly amounts and while that's fine for what it is and can be used as a motivational tool, it doesn't particularly add much to the game, at least not for me.

Half of the game? So there's an end then because you know, you can't measure half the distance between start and infinity.
Where is this supposed end of the game then so that half of it can be measured? Based on what criteria?
