Tips for Beginners

I agree with the rare trades reply. Get yourself to Lave. Its abit of a trek but with a fuel scoop every 2 or 3 jumps you will get there. Once there try and get a few thousand credits together. Low RES sites or unidentified signal sources to bounty hunt with police help. Then sell your weapons, upgrade everything essential to D class (its lighter) and upgrade your frame shift to C class. Replace shields with 4 cargo and add another 2 cargo hold. Your last slot keep as a fuel scoop. This will give you a 10 cargo ship and and fully laden hyper jump of about 12 L/Y. Then you are ready to do the Lave to Fujin rare trade run. You will be able to find info on it somewhere in here. Don't buy Lavanian Brandy (expensive to buy) but buy the other rare items from Leesti and Diso. Off you go to Fujin to sell. Buy 10T rare items there and return to Lave after selling them you will be 300-400k richer. I would recommend doing this twice before upgrading to Hauler or Cobra.

Eagle???

I would like to throw in that the game gives you a free eagle after you have made your first jump, so if your still in the starter Winder you might want to trade it in

What?!? I didn't get no free Eagle after my first jump. I am on Xbox One though...so maybe that's why?

All I know is that in the shipyard, I have no other ships in other locations and just the one stupid, P.O.S, stinkin' rottin sidewinder....no good P.O.S.
(I know it's know that bad)

Hi,

Firstly I would like mention that I really like the game, visually it's incredibly and it's something I can really sink into and lose myself for a while.

However..

I'm finding it really hard.
I've put quite a lengthy amount of hours into it in the hopes that maybe I would progress and become quite understanding of the game.
I've started to get hang of it, but I won't lie..I've become very bored of being blown up what are classed as "harmless" enemies..I can't complete the missions because of this and therefore I can't earn the credits to start getting better gear in order to dive into the game more..

I understand the game wants to be a hard game, but I believe that considering I'm a paying customer I should be able to least know how to play the game when i first start (I did a lot of YouTube watching to find things out) and that i didn't pay money to continuously get blown up and have to jump and supercruise back to the point I was at to 'try again'.

As you probably know, I've started with a sidewinder with standard stuff..I like the idea of doing bounty hunting but maybe it's not something to start the game with..

Is it possible for experienced players to give me some tips on what the :):):):) I can actually do in order to start earning credits and perhaps enjoy the game? I do like the game, and I do want to get good at it..but I personally believe if this carries on then I'll end up giving up with it and placing Call of Duty back in :(

Thanks for any help received.

1. Start off doing basic courier missions from the BB.
2. When you have a Cobra you can start doing smuggling. Then the money starts to roll in.
3. Later on you can try bounty hunting or mining.
4. Avoid human players until you really know what you are doing. Early on in the game you are at the bottom of the food chain so you have to run away like a rabbit.
5. Be patient. It doesn't take too long to move up.

My open play is red and it tells me my account cannot go into open play....I don't know why.
I am near Widows Light right now.

That was very good advice. I would add look at the new comers forum for links to the game manual and websites with trading and ship info.
