I couldn't help but notice there are loads of threads asking the same questions over and over again.
I suggest some of us more veteran players pipe up and give tips and answers to questions in a thread that is easy to check. Hence my reason for starting this thread, let's give out some good info. Bonus is we can then link to this thread, rather than having to explain similar answers in several threads.
Docking request denied
Park yourself in a safe spot near the station and log out of open play, log back in via group or solo. Presto you can now request docking. Once docked leave and rejoin open, problem solved.
Unable to plot route in galaxy map to another system.
There are several reasons for this, eliminate the following to make sure it's not user error.
Route is more than 100LY, system dislikes distances above this. Split the route into two or more of less than 100LY each.
Your ship is incapable of making one of the jumps in the route because of FSD range. In the navigation tab check your jump range and play with the slider to see if it then allows the route.
How do I know if I have an Eagle? and how do I get it?
Open your system map when you first log in after starting a New character. Look for a blue symbol over one of the larger stations that is your eagle. If you have left the starting system search for LHS 3447 As almost all merc pack owners start there, check System View it is in one of the stations again. If you started in another system and can't remember which, sorry but I can't help you at this time.
How do I look around in my cockpit?
This depends on your control method, easiest way to check is via the option on esc. Controls and scroll down till you see Freelook should be about 3/4 down the bindings list. Whatever button is bound there will enable freelook via your preferred control method when pressed. If nothing is Bound, Pick something you are not using and Bind it.
How do I activate voice commands to the computer?
This I am afraid is not an Elite feature but is instaed using a Paid for program in most cases called Voiceattack which can be found here http://www.voiceattack.com/
