To Solo Play Players: If You Could Disable PVP, Would You Play in Open Play Mode Instead?

From some one who put in some time and seen the game of Fallout 76 grow from Beta to what it is now. It was death of PVP when they put a toggle in. Led to exploits for forcing PVP. This led them to disable every aspect of PVP and removing some game modes as result. I find the solo mode fixes this problem and as well Private sessions and i still like open.

FO76 had about the same problems of design as ED, a lack of understanding what the audience prefers and a mode where the majority of players don't want to play.

FO76 really suffered from the lack of anything to do once you've set yourself up. I played for a few months with the other half but when she went to ESO it just became pointless continuing.
Tried to get her into Elite but I don't think she made it out of the starter systems.

Idk how exactly your business is supposed to work, but just out of curiosity, can carriers not be of use somehow while exchanging goods?
Yes, if we would own a carrier (what is not the case) or our business partners own one (what is only for one of them the case) it is possible.

Purchase of a own Carrier is realistic for april or may this year.

The mass of exchanges is currently done by CMDR to CMDR exchange in some previous agreed uninhabited system. And not all our business partners are simultanly on our friendlist or willing to switch to a PG for that. In fact we offer to do this in open to make it less complicated as possible for them. I am happy if someone is willing to cooperate at all with us as there are not many CMDR who do this just for RP reasons. As I said, the profits are not really tempting.

I'd play in open if they fixed the C&P and if system states were accurate. High security should mean just that. doesn't mean you wont get attacked, but it's highly unlikely sort of thing. You could also have the response time of the system authorities change depending on system security. High = really quick with more responders, Low = slower response time time with less responders.:p

Well, ironically it was PVP'ers who shot themselves to leg. Game companies do listen their players, even if they seem to be totally deaf. Enough complaints about unwanted PVP, players leaving the game and so on, and they react. Okay they decided to remove unconsenting PVP. Now certain type PVP'ers start various exploits. Company hits them even harder. It just is quite common that many gamers don't actually like PVP, especially being just roflstompable targets.

We've come full circle now - OP started with FO76 as example and we arrived there again. I'd say it was misdesigned by a bunch of dev noobs with no experience in MP.

But FO fans got at least sixteen times the detail. Peculiar, SC uses that more successful for their 1 decade old undelivered game.
But I have a feeling the misdesigned MP will eventually drive a lot of the whale sheep away. It's got the same cluelessness as FO76 and ED in terms of MP setup.

Well I have to say that I haven't ever seen Open world MMO setting with unlimited PVP that works as intended. All succesfull ones have eventually limited PVP, either with mode select, or put regional limits and so on. Otherwise they die out.

They work fine when they set out as PvP game, Naval Action, Foxhole is just the recent examples. Tthey are designed around PvP and that's why they're fun.
What's fun in arguing with devs and other players? Pretty little. Dedicated games for dedicated audiences with dedicated gameplay. There are commonalities but not enough to build a entire game on.

"Recent" as in me playing them. I played NA like 4 years ago too and that isnt revcent.

I play open, it is my preferred way to play, I fly with a wing of 4 so solo defeats the purpose. Also, if you can dodge a wrench then you can evade an interdiction. turn FA off.
