To Solo Play Players: If You Could Disable PVP, Would You Play in Open Play Mode Instead?

It'd take a vast number of "police" to play the waiting game, i.e. waiting for the distress call - and, given the size of the galaxy and the time taken to travel between systems and in-system, they'd arrive too late much, if not most, of the time.
That's why with the beefed-up system police in proposing traders would stick to max/high systems or risk it for more profit in low/lawless systems as it stands almost all the PVP action is in CG and engineer systems anyway its a big bubble and I'm sure given the chance a lot of "gankers" would become bounty hunters anyway as its action they are after

Why should the trader bother risking being engaged in Open in the first place?

The proposal seems to accept ganking as an inevitability and create an opportunity for PvP for those who would want to chase gankers - so that's those who prefer PvP taken care of - there's nothing in it for those being "protected" (other than, possibly, possibly not, some assistance when under attack - that may well arrive too late).

The reward is to be part of a living galaxy rather than hiding away in solo or PG's, no system is perfect but the one we have now is terrible

I find it hilarious that gankers pick on defenseless unarmed exploration ships or traders just for kicks.
Wheres the skill or honor in that?

Im completely PVE in Elite but back in the day i was one of the few Alliance players in WOW that led PvP battles against Worms crew at the Crossroads.
My last PvP game was ESO, Former Emperor and one of the first Grand Overlords (before Cyrodiil was rigged).
Point being just because im PVE doesn't mean i know nowt about PvP.
Often i would get 1v1 or 1v2 vs players out in the open, if i knew i could beat them i would walk away (wave and bow of course).
Sometimes they would give it a go and i would play along but still not kill them.

There is simply no honor in killing someone that has no chance against you, whether role-play or not.
I would be happy to get pulled over by player Pirates in Open, possibly even enjoy the experience as there seems to be some PvPers on here or are actually decent folks but sadly most are just bent on wanting to ruin your fun for no reason, that's why a separate zone (Cyrodiil for instance) is a much better way as all those in there WANT to PvP.
ESO ended badly due to the usual issue of trying to balance PvP skills with PVE but the idea was the right way around, Open PVE with separate PvP zones.
Even WOWs PvP server idea of safe zone areas (near Citys) was half decent and EVE had a reasonable idea but the player base is so toxic i lost interest.

Unfortunately the bunch we have can kid themselves that it's a challenge purely for the fact that there's a human on the other side of the screen. This apparently demonstrates that they're in the top 1% of all button pushers out there.

In other words, people suck :ROFLMAO:

And other basic problem is that bounty hunting pays pretty poorly. Especially concerning its innate costs. (Like possible ship rebuys...).
Bounty hunting pays bad, yes. And PvPers want to have that changed for organic PvP.

And every time the PvPers want to have that ridiculous 2 million bounty cap lifted,
the PvP haters come out of all corners and tell the PvPers that this will be exploited,
citing that old engineering exploit from 2016 or so.

As if there aren't enough money exploits :ROFLMAO:

If the "reward" is the possibility of unwanted PvP then it's not worth the effort - for some players.

.... and, regardless of game mode, we're all part of (and affect) a living galaxy - and with the addition of pan-modal system chat, players in all game modes gain the ability to communicate with each other, if they want to .

The reference to "hiding away in solo or PG's" is telling - as if there's an issue, for some players, that players can choose to play without them / aren't forced to play with them.

My dear Mr. Bigmaec.

You mentioned that I should make a video of encounters with gankers. I am not averse to this. I suppose you know what is necessary soft - and hardware as well as setting etc for this. I really don't know anything about how to do this. Perhaps you can tell me what to do (via PM?). Thanks in advance.

There is no PvP haters here. Only people who's like to play their way and not yours.

Nothing against big bounties, Fdev anyways seems to be somewhat illogical when it comes to credit "exploits".
