To Solo Play Players: If You Could Disable PVP, Would You Play in Open Play Mode Instead?

Which is another difference between them and this game - although those games effectively had PvP-flags in operation between players of the same race.
I think there is some confusion here. We are all aware that it IS optional in this game. There is some dispute over whether it should be, and thats what this thread is about (kind of, but not really since i dont think anyone has advocated for solo to be removed entirely)

No confusion - while some don't accept the fact that they bought a game where PvP is optional, it remains optional in all game features except CQC. This thread seeks to find out if being able to disable PvP would encourage some players who currently play in Solo to play in Open instead - and some have indicated that the would.

So we can finish?
Every participant can choose whether or not to continue to engage in the thread - like PvP, it's optional. ;)

The topic (in the broad sense, this one is a minor skirmish on the fringes of the PvP/PvE debate IMO) won't go away - unless and until Frontier make all currently mode shared game features Open only and those who don't like that stop playing the game.

Disable something that's already optional? lmao
It's not optional in Open - which is the topic of the thread... :) It is optional in that no player is required to play among other players to engage in any game feature (excepting CQC, of course - but that's not a mode shared game feature that directly affects the galaxy).

I think i can see why the previous MMO ive played didnt have this problem (problem being people complaining about being killed by other players) - they were all race vs race games. So there was always an inbuilt justification for any PvP - Im an Accretian and you are a Bellato (insert races from whichever game). Space robots hate space midgets and we are at war, was all anyone ever needed. It was still ganking, gear based and one sided, but there was RP justification, automatically.

Not really caring about RP i never really realised that was the deciding factor.
Well could you attack somebody being same race? Edit: Ah you answered that allready...
