Tomorrow is the 3rd October!

Herculean Machines and Supratech will produce functional prototypes for the Rackham Ultratech Expo on Wednesday the 3rd of October.

What do you think will happen?

New ship module?
New accessory for your avatar?
New commodity to buy and sell?
Nothing, it's just Galnet fluff!

Likely, a galnet article

What is it about the 3rd October? Did I miss anything? Is it something American? Is it the International Day of Rogue AI? ...

edit: now I googled and I am smarter: it's German Unity Day. "Schönen Feiertag!"

It's Galnet I guess. That kind of news mostly give us context for CGs and are very, very rarely tied to game content. And if it is, it mostly comes after an update dropped. I don't really get the fuss and excitement about that, as if this was some kind of announcement.

Well they made mistake putting real date in GalNet articles twice :D

As I said, enjoyed CG, do not expecting anything today (but FD, surprise me, you have this one shot here :D), but feeling good nevertheless.

I think in the West it is seen as almost proper date of end of Cold War....which I kinda agree.

While world might not be safest place but heck not being blown up because some radar got a bad day is plus in my book - and Germans got their united country back, most importance.

Plenty of these Galnet articles are wry, amusing and ofc deniable. Art imitating life. Game imitating forums, half the time.

ED doesnt provide a singular core narrative, or even core narrative streams. You have to unpick the info available to find what matters to you. Like reading a newspaper. Or just being an adult. In real life.

In this particular case though, I think it's something else.. Much of the hate of this "fluff" is because people get a tingley feeling that there is a meaning behind it, but they just dont quite get it.
I love a bit of PostModern elitism, (where you actually need a mind of your own and cant just throw latin legalistics at an issue.)
So im happy to go with that.
