Horizons Tracking the Tick

It's the exact time of the day when states have been updated yesterday. So it's obvious that the tick didn't got shifted, it either didn't happen or didn't got displayed.

The tick is there but the missed one clearly didn't count, from the looks of it.

Oh well, just another day of hard work wasted. Nothing new.

I'm not sure if saturday's actions didn't count. I mean, I didn't found the formula to calculate influence changes, but I think I have some guesses and this tick might fit.

A few details:
- We worked quite hard on Saturday to push our faction. According to my current (certainly imprecise) factor to calculate a normal influence tick (without an ending conflict or some other events that might have an impact) we should have gained +0.5 percent in influence. (Yep, that's not very much, but in our system we can't manage to do much better.)
- Now the tick didn't occur on Sunday, and we were disappointed and decided to wait for the tick without doing much more to push our faction until then. In this case our faction usually faces a -0.3 percent drop in influence as a natural decay.
- After today's tick we're +0.2 ahead of our Saturday's influence value. This may be due to casual players doing the right things to push our faction, though I'd doubt that. The only reasonable explanation would be that Saturday's actions actually counted for today's tick.

I got some very remote Systems tracked, after dumping Millions of High-Demand Painite into it.. I see a -0.2%.
Standard decay for these Systems after a day of no Player traffic and no Player Input.

In other Systems, we dumped thousands of tons of standard Commodities, executed several Trade- and Mining Missions plus made >10M Cr in Bounties alone. Effect : zero.

A glance at the bug report page shows the return of a number of familiar 'features'.

We also didn't get our just desserts for Saturday's work.

I have been thinking that we should try to create a thread in the Groups sub forums about these thing. Actually, I have been thinking in creating a Galactic League of Minor Factions, not unlike the UN where we all gather our thoughts under the same space, and share information.

Among other things, it would be good to have a list of the POMF's, their names, and the systems they control/present in, so we all know where to find each other and how far/close are.

Then we share info on the BGS, and the things, like this one, that we experience. It would create a way to confirm/negate our doings with the BGS.

Then again, I am involved in so many things atm, I am not sure if this idea was already implemented or if it would be a redundant initiative to an existent one.

Don't want to hijack the thread, cause we are also very interested in following the tick daily, but thought it would be a good idea to mention.

Sunday's grindbox offerings seem to have counted, Saturdays are missing.

The notion of daily influence updates is wrong, conceptually. Having it combined with limitless factions in a system and no method of decreasing the number of factions in a system just makes it so much worse. The existing rules of the galactic political game are absurd. Minor faction warfare fails to enliven the experience at all, even on the two of three occasions when it achieves basic functionality.

Unless there are going to be some drastic revisions to gameplay in 2.1 the situation is going to get worse not better. I am not looking forward to the game explain to me more clearly what would have happened had the background simulation properly taken account of my actions.
--
When can we have a Powerplay system with conflict rather than fifth column activities as its basic theme? When can we have a background system where you can defend systems against invasion, or eliminate factions from a system?
--
Lastly, this thread is another example of all the manual tracking we have to do, hours and hours of additional non-fun. Why isn't there automatic tracking of influence levels in minor factions? Too revealing perhaps?

And we have a tick :)
Getting rather predictable these days. Bring back the unpredictable tick this is boring lol.
