Release Trade Computer Extension Mk.II

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

This was reported earlier, but couldn't recreate the problem with the wrong time left value until today.
TCE stores the expire date on acception and checks the actual date against it. The stored value don't change.
So if there is a time difference, all mission would have the problem, but they don't, right?

Will add 4 more mission entries to the panel, no problem.

Happy New Year to you too.
I will do some more investigating when I get the chance but I don't know when that will be as I am about to go away with work for a while, hopefully can look into it soon.
If It helps, I am in Australia in the GMT +10 timezone, cannot imagine how this would have an effect on the minutes of the missions as game time seems to be in UTC, but thought I would mention it just in case.
When I do get back in game I will accept a few different types of mission to see if any of them have disparities.

Thanks in advance for adding the extra slots in the panel.

[1] CREW CREDITS ERANED ISN'T CORRECT
As you can see from the image below there is a major discrepancy with amounts paid.

[1] CREW CREDITS ERANED ISN'T CORRECT
As you can see from the image below there is a major discrepancy with amounts paid.

That difference could happen, not intentionally, but FDev don't give us devs clear commission values for each crew member, nor any info about when gaining a rank.
So this value is an approximate value but easy to correct by double-clicking onto the value.

That makes sense. I didn't actually know that your crews percentage take increased when their rank went up, cheers.

UPDATE:
I'm not able to EDIT the CREW income, I can other amounts, just not CREW.

QUESTION:

How do I go about converting the date stamp in TCE db to the real date. E.G. what would 'StoreDate' 512807 convert to? I've tried searching without much joy as I'm not sure what to search for.

[1] DELETING A LOCATION ERROR
I deleted a location and got this error.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.
The 'WAIT' state never changed so I closed the tab and then got the same error 3 times. I then checked again and the location had actually been deleted.

The Locations.db had the line item marked as #EMPTY which is normal.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/8akodzx7smkq16g/TCE_Locations.db?dl=0

So I then added another location to see if the #EMPTY slot was used for that location. And it was.

I then deleted this TEST location and it was deleted without error. So added the real location details back to TCE and then I got this error.

See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/8akodzx7smkq16g/TCE_Locations.db?dl=0

So I then added another location to see if the #EMPTY slot was used for that location. And it was.

I then deleted this TEST location and it was deleted without error. So added the real location details back to TCE and then I got this error.
See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.
So the error maybe because I have a URL in the notes and a line break, which is this:

Will be fixed with the next update. The URL has nothing to do with it, it's a missing data update.

QUESTION:
How do I go about converting the date stamp in TCE db to the real date. E.G. what would 'StoreDate' 512807 convert to? I've tried searching without much joy as I'm not sure what to search for.

The value represents the number of days from the base OLE Automation Date, which is midnight, 30 December 1899.

Hi Eventure,

I logged in today and gave the EDDB Relay a shot. I am not sure the faction part is working correctly. I used the 'tracked factions' option.

It looks like the chart updated with the correct influence levels, but the 'star system' data above it and the 'faction summary' still shows the faction data from the last time I was actually at the systems where the faction is present.

I will send db's shortly.

Yes, I can confirm the issue, will be fixed in the next update.

Hi,
I am new to this wonderfull tool, really like it. But one thing i am missing, when i do this find stuff and bring it here missions i have to manually put the wanted commodity in the shopping list to find out where to get it. is there a way to get it from the missions panel to the shopping list?

Good idea, will checkout, how to realize it!

Would it be possible to add a button or something to the 'trade overview' panel near where the 'best buy' button is, so I can click to add the item/location chosen to the shopping list?

I ask because I'm often looking for items and checking the details on the possible location to buy at, like PP faction, security, etc not shown in the shopping list info for the station. I do this checking at the 'trade overview'/'best buy' panel. I also use that panel a lot during that search in order to find something to buy that I can then sell where I'm going to get the mission item. Hope that makes sense.

A few questions:

Is there any real problem in running TCE with EDMC? In a guide by punkerich it says it's not needed to run EDMC anymore, since TCE uses the command line version of it, but it seems there is some functionality missing then: I seem to be missing a few days worth of flight log entries (for example) in EDSM after trial using TCE for a few days (and not running EDMC at the same time).

EDMC can also have other functionality besides updating EDDB/EDSM: it can have plugins (like for Inara updates for example). Do they get used with the command line version of EDMC that TCE uses? I seem to be missing a few days worth of Inara updates as well, so I guess not... :( Maybe it should be possible to use the Good Old EDMC instead of TCE to update EDDB (and more) and disable that functionality in TCE instead, in order to retain all EDMC functionality? As far as I know EDDB does reject duplicate updates, so maybe there's not really so much harm in running TCE with EDMC even now (except of course the extra net traffic (and extra burden on EDDB) of duplicate updates).

Maybe TCE could just recognize a running EDMC window and let it take care of all of the updates (and not meddle in then)?

And another: it gets rather annoying to use other Windows programs simultaneously with ED/TCE combo (I know that sort of makes TCE unnecessary to a degree :).

Anyway, I no longer seem have any access to windows task bar (the desktop bottom bar) with TCE: it seems to be always covered by a full screen window of ED (that does not happen without TCE - even when ED is running in full screen borderless mode, I can always switch out of ED to a background program (eith Alt-Tab) and then see the task bar as usual (most of the time anyway)). If I'm not entirely wrong, this has been a problem with all ED overlays (or some even worse side effects than TCE)...

Of course there are other ways of accessing background windows (in windows 10) besides the task bar (Start-Tab for example), but there does not seem to be the handy full screen peek of a running window (with mouse hover over a window thmbnail) like the taskbar has. This makes it quite hard (or cumbersome) to find some particular tab I was in a while ago among the multiple browser windows and tabs I most of the time have open (it's not possible to see the tab names in window thumbnails). Or maybe I just don't know my Windows 10 well enough... :eek: (I use it almost solely for gaming, though (that's my excuse :)). Any ideas?

You rock, Eventure. One of the best devs, especially for something like this, that I've ever encountered. :)

Is there any real problem in running TCE with EDMC?

Not in my experience. I also prefer having the full thing open as well. Never had an issue, really, other than a minor bug with rares that may now be gone..

Huh, I haven't had any issues personally and I play in Borderless Window Mode. Then again I have a second monitor so perhaps that changes things somewhat? It's to be expected that without Borderless, you won't be able to get to the taskbar easily and Peek (the hover preview thingie) won't work because an app is in exclusive 3D mode which Peek requires, as I recall.

Is there any real problem in running TCE with EDMC?
TCE uses the command-line version of EDMC to populate the station info and also (optionally) to send station info to EDDN, and consumers of EDDN data such as eddb.

If you want other EDMC functionality like EDSM or Inara integration and sending system and scan data to EDDN then you need to have the EDMC app running. There's no issue in having both EDMC and TCE running at the same time.

I also prefer having the full thing open as well. Never had an issue, really, other than a minor bug with rares that may now be gone.
FDev fixed this in the last release.

I think your problems are specific to your WIN 10 configuration, sometimes things get a little out of whack and this is when you start to experience annoying functionality for apparently no real reason. I'd advise searching for your specific problems to find a solution. I don't believe this has anything to do with TCE, I could be wrong, but I'm doubtful.

Hi there,

I didn't have an issue in accessing the taskbar, while TCE is running. Did you have activated the Aero mode?

On the Alt-tab issue, I found a solution to remove all previews of TCE panels from the list of running apps. Only the main UI will stay as a preview, all other panels will be no longer visible in the list.
It will come with the next update.

Would it be possible to add a button or something to the 'trade overview' panel near where the 'best buy' button is, so I can click to add the item/location chosen to the shopping list?

Yes, I can follow ;). Adding a button should be no problem to add a selected item (incl. the station) to the shopping list, BUT the selected station is not stored between sessions, only the chosen item.

Would it be possible to add in a tab with the total value of your current exploration data?
It already shows the value when you scan a planet so it cant be too hard?
