As a noob with ED extensions I am hoping this is a straigtforward query!

I have been manually entering commodity prices/stocks onto the panel, clicking save, but the entered data is not appearing on next opening of the panel - everything (i.e buy/sell/stock) back to zeros. The extension does however seem to be correctly recording new stars/markets though. No errors or other obvious symptoms to report.

Any ideas on troubleshooting welcome. From what I have seen this is a really great tool even without the OCR that does not seem to like my setup.

I believe you have to hit 'enter' after manually entering/changing a commodity price.

Also try using EDMC for one click done-ness. 'tis awesome.

Use the ENTER key to all input done. But nevertheless I found a bug, when saving manual changes. The Stock value isn't correct. Will be fixed with the next update.

There's a new Tool out there that some people here my want to use as a companion to TCE. It's called ED Toolbox or EDTB for short the thread is here, I played around with it last night and I found it added to the immersion especially using it alongside TCE. Only thing I'd like to change in EDTB is the colour schema, as it's blue, I'm going to see what I can find out as EDTB runs in the browser so I may be able to get a plug-in for Chrome to manage the schema.

Hmm...things are pretty quiet. Unfortunately, I have no bugs to report.

However, if possible, could you reduce the time it takes for the Summary panel to pop up when entering a system?

I use it to navigate to starports so I always pop out directly facing the mail slot, and some starports are quite close to the main star, so by the time it pops up, it is too late to help me navigate. I have left it up just to see how fast it has the info, and usually it has the info (it knows you're in the system) very quickly.

The amount of time it stays up before re-hiding is fine.

You have all three, just bare in mind, translation to another language, and back again, doesn't always translate/ read the same way.

When I pick up the new update on Sunday night, I will be looking forward to it.

Upper case tends to give in-accurate results, Sentence Case does provide better, but your not using that.

Hi Eventure. A request please!

I am in the Distant Worlds exploration group - that is part of the reason for me not to be able to test very much currently as obviously TCE as a trading tool is not appropriate for DW. However, I thought I should be able to use TCE to record my trip and add notes, etc at various points of interest. The problem is, although the Current Position always shows me where I am in game, all that gets recorded in the Flight Log is "Unknown Star System" at every hyperjump. I am not interested in entering the full, somewhat obtuse, star system names or the star co-ordinates since that would take far too much time and what is the point anyway except perhaps for Points of Interest I wish to record?

What I would like to see automatically recorded in the TCE Flight Log is simply the Star System name, instead of "Unknown Star System". You have the Star System name anyway since it always appears in the Current System header box. In that way I would have a record of the stars I have visited and I can add any notes or the full co-ordinates if I wish. As I said, I am generally not interested in any star system co-ordinates anyway.

Perhaps not everybody would want the Star System name automatically recorded so you could make it an option the main Option menu.

Hi Eventure

Happily using 0.9.9.6 at present with only a few minor quirks: -


  • The Commodity Panel doesn't retain font/size changes after a restart of TCE but all the other Panels appear OK

  • The Planet ID field is inconsistent. On most occasions when entering something such as 'A1 ' as the ID TCE inputs a '-' automatically when displaying in the Main Panel e.g. 'AIABIKO - A2 : JETT RING' On other occasions it does not input a '-' and to get the same result a '-' needs to be entered as part of the ID

    [edit] - upon further observation it appears to miss the '-' when using 'A1' or 'B1' as the first part of the Planet ID but not 'A2' or 'B2'


  • There appears to have been a duplication of log entries in my Db. In some cases there are multiple duplicate entries - Db file is here

  • I know I shouldn't have but with TCE1 I frequently added additional UR_Markets directly to the database (ensuring that the ID remained sequential) so that I could have a more complete idea of the stations within a system even if I hadn't visited them.

    This seemed to work fine, when I did visit the station I simply selected it from the unregistered ones presented by TCE and as part of the registration process TCE deleted the UR entry from the relevant table. However with TCE2 I select the UR from the list presented and register the station but the UR entry doesn't appear to delete.

    Is this a problem with the coding or isn't the relationships between the tables the same? As far as I can see the SQLite table is exactly the same as the old one in Access.:rolleyes:

Hi Eventure,
Do you still need Hangar Pics of Ships?
I have three you may not have, How do you get to Hangar view without going through the outfitting option in the Station?
