Release Trade Computer Extension Mk.II

Still stuck at 69%

I now have the same problem. TCE-Relay stops at 69%. No matter how often I start it again, it always stops at 69% or sometimes at 70%.

Still can't get past 69%.
Now under Options->System->Logs I checked the box for TCE-Relay hoping it will tell my why/where the process is stuck.
Anyone knows where the log file is supposed to be?
Unfortunatly, I can't recreate the issue on my machine, so I have prepared a hotfix for TCE-Relay, adding
  • an error message, if an error occuring in the download,
  • a new element to the tray setup to select the download server/source (TCE or EDSM/Spansh)
  • a header for the download web request.

Please download the hotfix and replace the files in the \TCE-Relay folder of the TCE installation and report back, if the hotfix is working.
Thanks in advance!

The TCE server threw an unhandled exception, (missed getting the details), but ran fine using Spansh/EDSM.

Not sure if it's related, but auto-destination keeps selecting planetary outposts even if filter set to space only

Just ran TCE-Relay with the Hotfix with the following results:

Internet access: download 61,7 Mbit/s / upload 22,8 Mbit/s

EDSM/Spansh Server: ok
TCE Server: again stopped at 69% with this error:

Found the issue with the filter for planetary/space only markets. Will be fixed with the next update.
Thanks for the report.

Thank you, now I have to ask my server provider, what's going on here. So using the EDSM/Spansh Server for user's having the problem with the TCE-Server is recommended.
I will post an update, when I have an answer on this topic.

If it helps, 69% looks like it is 1.00GB of galaxy_stations.json.gz download (1,078,215,859 bytes). Maybe some configured limit somewhere?

I use all of my 16 cores to calculate TCE relay. None of the cores are loaded to 100% and so you can do a lot of things at the same time, even play. I own a 13700KF with 8p and 8e cores. Without 'Limited Extraction' activated, it takes about 22 mins.

<rest snipped for brevity

Just wanted to acknowledge that I'd received all that juicy info, absorbed it, heeded your advice and things worked fine. Many, many thanks. Been away with family so didn't have a chance to reply earlier.

Now I see you've been busy again and released yet more new versions while I've been away. Thanks!

Hello everyone,
I like to ask, if someone, who had a problem with the download of the nightly dump from my TCE server, can test the direct link to the file:
https://tce.4lima.de/dump/galaxy_stations.json.gz
Do you have the same problem when downloading it through a browser and if the problem occuring, which browser you are using?
Thanks in advance!
On my work computer, not the one I play ED on, but the download halts at 70% using Vivaldi browser. Looks like the download is just paused (i.e. it has not terminated), just the download rate is at 0 bytes/sec, but still says in progress. So this is two different computers with different download methods with the same issue.

Edit: What is weird is that I kept hitting resume download after a few minutes and though the download rate never increased and the progress never updated, it appears that it did complete in the end.

Download worked for me on the first attempt using Chrome, but this wasn't on ED machine, subsequent attempts failed with 'network issue' even on initially successful machine

Vivaldi and Edge both get to about 70% then report a network error. Both can be started again and the file eventually continues downloading completely

I was able to DL it on Brave browser but did have to hit resume once do to a network error, I was around the 85% mark when it gave the error.

Hi, I have a question regarding TCE-Relay.

My downloaded update file is 10mb.

Would it be smaller if the sphere range was lower than the default 100 LY?

I found that I can't lower the range to below 50 LY why is that when the trade range is set to 25 LY?

Thanks,

Martin

Can you tell me which file you mean by update file? The download size is actually always very similar, around 1.44 GB for the Spansh dump and around 90 MB for the EDSM file.

But if you mean the files that TCE Relay creates from the dumps, these actually depend on the information sphere range. Four files will be created at once. Prices.csv, Stations.jsonl, Systems.jsonl and Factions.csv.

The information sphere range can't be lower than the Trade Range and if the information sphere range is of the same size as the Trade Range, then TCE-Relay has to update the databases on a high Trade Efficiency nearly every jump, which isn't very clever. I decided to give TCE-Relay a buffer by doubling the size of the Trade Range by default.

OK, thanks for the explanation.

Download with Firefox. Exactly 1GB received, then download ended with failure. Resume continued the download and finished it.

TCE ran fine last weekend. Fired it up today, and it's throwing an application path error, saying "incorrect game path - select horizons game path". Game version shows ok as "Elite Dangerous: Odyssey 4.0.0.1802". I ran the auto detect path twice, same result. Set the path manually to user/user/appdata/local/frontier_developments/products/elite-dangerous-odyssey-64, but red text "incorrect game path..." remains. I'll send you the 7z.

Edit* : So despite the error, TCE did start and run ok. The problem now is that TCE is showing "server down" and it is stuck at 96% "identifying stations to process".
