Release Trade Computer Extension Mk.II

Eventure, I must say a nice job on the latest version, seems to do everything I want it too. No errors converting from 0.9.9.6.

Just some ideas for you:
Doesn't work too well without setting the Configuration first, might be a good idea to grey out/ disable the other options until the configuration is done.

Might be a good idea to check for EliteOCR during the install, you could then drop in the files into the right location before the configuration settings are set by the users.

During the last few installation attemps, I asked myself some questions, the installer, checking for Space Requirements, on what drive?
Location of TCE, what if I change the location to another drive, has the right drive been checked for space requirements?

When in Navigation, Sorting by State, How does one get to see those that are Scanned or Explored? Explored might be related to Horizons (Don't have it yet), but I don't understand what criteria would enable me to see those entries, could you explain please.

Hi Eventure. Kudos to you for the work on TCE Mk II and the constant round of improvement and your quick response to all of the problems. In my opinion TCE is something that ED should have had from the very beginning and I just want to say thank you. I have to also say I am very surprised by the small number of financial supporters given the number of people that use TCE MK II and I would encourage everyone who uses TCE regularly and who believe it adds to their enjoyment to make a small donation as a sign of appreciation for your work.
.
I also have a small question regarding my use of TCE. I have started on a short exploration expedition and I don't want to enter into the database every new star I visit but I would like to keep track of the overall distance I travel and I was intending to enter into the database the last star I visit every day so as to be able later to calculate my overall distance travelled on a daily basis rather than on a star to star basis. Do you think that this will cause a problem with my database later?
.
edit Well that didn't work out so well because now when I try and enter star database panel does not appear :(

hi eventure, is there a prob with position detection? how often is it polling? just had my 3rd ins. claim (don't ask. laden cutter.), now back to finley-freundlich hub.
TCE still says i'm in arevakimos planetside...

I don't know how to resolve this issue. I can't update DATABASE entry for this Station. It is always displayed as UNKNOWN, even after restarting TCE.I've even done the coordinates for the system and saved them, problem still evident.

Hi Eventure. Still having problem with Planetary Ports, when two are on the same Planet/moon.
Added first port (Hodgson Holding in MCC 296 on B1) then flew to a Orbital Station using supercruise ( Ziemkiewicz Vision) and docked. Then flew to Crowley Installation (again via supercruise). landed but TCE still said Hodgson Holdings.

did you input a new port even though it said you were at the first port?
It doesnt always show correctly until you have entered the new port and flown away and gone back again.

And here is my 0.9.9.6 DB file

Hmmm, both db's are importable without any error here. I recommend to copy it manually to the actual version for the moment. TCE makes an upgrade at start, if necessary.
Maedhros imported database (without the logbook entries): https://www.dropbox.com/s/3919cvwn8bzlwdc/Maedhros.rar?dl=0
Radblaster's imported database: https://www.dropbox.com/s/vhsycvr1kvrbphb/Radblaster.rar?dl=0

Please try to import these databases to check, if the error appears again.

Observation: Waypoints and Credits Opacity Bars, once set to a value and minimized, when they are brought back up, don't maintain there position. However the Summary window, does.
The amount of Opacity remains the same. Should or shouldn't?
I would say, that I don't know if it should apply also to the resize window or resize font bars too. They all seem to reset to center.

Thanks for your report. Fixed all panels and now the value is stored with the HIDE button without clicking again on the control button (Opacity, Panel Size, Font Size).

have sent to your email.

Thanks, it helped to show the problem. Next update will fix the issue.

From my design view, it is an indicator, if money can be made from exploring the system.
Scanned - The star system is scanned, so all bodies are detected, but the data about each body is unknown.
Explored - All bodies are scanned, so the data about each body is known.

Some systems are already known from the beginning, so I set these system to explored .

Do you think that this will cause a problem with my database later?
.
edit Well that didn't work out so well because now when I try and enter star database panel does not appear

Thank you.

You should be able to add the last star system of the day to your database and the distance to your last known star system is displayed at the logbook at the new entry.
Perhaps you can explain your edit, what does not appear? The panel itself?

Hmmm, both db's are importable without any error here. I recommend to copy it manually to the actual version for the moment. TCE makes an upgrade at start, if necessary.
Maedhros imported database (without the logbook entries): https://www.dropbox.com/s/3919cvwn8bzlwdc/Maedhros.rar?dl=0
Radblaster's imported database: https://www.dropbox.com/s/vhsycvr1kvrbphb/Radblaster.rar?dl=0

Please try to import these databases to check, if the error appears again.

Thanks - that worked fine :)

OK, thanks for that, which leads me to this. I must be missing something here then, when I sort I see those I have visited, but none are scanned or explored.

How do I go about setting a star system to one of these states?

Ok I am having major issues even trying to get this to work...

I FINALLY got the config to take but had to make the config.xml file by hand since there was no such file for the program to find or use.

Now, it is having problems finding a log file... I even created a logs dir and created a temp.log file but it will not accept it and just produces an error..

Here are some screenshots of what I get and see each time I try to use this app..

Each time the error pops up which is every 2 seconds, it also creates a NEW TCE task running in the task manager of Windows.

Let me know what else you need for info...

Your app config file is located in this directory structure in your own profile, subsitute <Username> with your windows account name.

C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Local\Frontier_Developments\Products\elite-dangerous-64 (If your running the 64bit version)
The netlog file should find itself after that.

If like you say you are creating these files then they will be wrong, hence your problems, you need to find the correct Directory for the AppConfig.xml and Log folder, creating them isn't going to work.

For horizon its common in C:\USERS\<username>\AppData\Local\Frontier_Developments\Products\elite-dangerous-64
Elite Dangerous 1.5 C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Frontier_Developments\Products\FORC-FDEV-D-1010
Search for AppConfig.xml

File needs to look similar to this one, but TCE will edit it correctly once you have defined it's destination correctly.

Code:
<Network
Port="0"
upnpenabled="1"
LogFile="netLog"
DatestampLog="1"
VerboseLogging="1"

Both issues fixed with the next update.

Figured it out BARNARD''S STAR instead of BARNARD'S STAR ('') SHOULD BE (') looks like a regression or a missed clean up of, ('')

Fixed it by changing the STAR system name in TCE, required a restart and all was OK. Obviously I was tired last night and didn't see the obvious.

How do I go about setting a star system to one of these states?

Goto NAVIGATION PANEL and on the STAR SYSTEM TAB, you'll see two CHANGE options at the bottom these change a SYSTEMS STATE and STAR details.
