Release Trade Computer Extension Mk.II

This is not how it works...
With every FULL release, pls do the following:

1. Rename current TCE folder (e.g. C:\TCE_1_1)
2. Install new full TCE Version (e.g. C:\TCE)
3. Run TCE Setup, detecting the Paths
4. Database Management -> Import from MKII -> Choose old folder (C:\TCE_1_1)

Thanks, added it to the FAQs.

With a full installer update I always copy the full TCE folder, not just the DB folder, to another location, rename it with the version number eg. TCEv1.0.8 and delete the previous saved TCE version folder so I don't get a buildup of "old" TCE folders, then do my update to the original TCE location and import/update the Mk II DB from the copied location. Then if anything goes wrong I have the full old TCE folder to copy back to its original location. It may seem over the top but I am always fanatical about backups.

Rob

Thanks Rob. That is roughly what I am doing anyway. I had this moment where I thought "is this normal?" :D

So just to be clear, is it enough to import MKII database and skip importing MKI because MKI files already are in MKII db?

So it is. Importing a Mk.I database is only required, if you used the TCE MK.I version before using the actual Mk.II version.

Much obliged, pointed me in the right direction , had to go in through the steam files, it's up and running, only issue now I have is it sits behind the game and says waiting for game to start.

got that now border less option in graphics. Now just to get it seeing that the game is running

have checked the verbose settings etc they are as should be, the problem seems to be the net log path. Looking at the screen shot path, in the user manual, it just ends as logs as if it is a folder and not a file it should be looking at ,in the string.

Now my logs folder contain debug files as well as net log files for different dates , so now I am stuck.

okay don't know why but..........success, only thing different was I activated one of the optional downloads, not the Ocr one but the other and it all sprang to life. Now to learn how to make full advantage of it.

adding any new stations creates the error so couldnt use this during my elite session last night

Get started by visiting a number of different systems, with different specialties, Industrial, High Tech, Agricultural, Refinery, Extraction etc. Build a couple of each say 3, and then you'll be able to map some stuff out for yourself. Get EDMC connected, and you'll make your life easier too.

Thanks EDMC was the one I couldn't remember but as soon as I activated that as in logged in, the MKII sprung to life, picking up position.

Have started my data saves, which will be handy going forward, saving creds to move out the sidewinder for trading, so should have a nice start to the database as I explore and visit markets along the way.

When I have to use EliteOCR when EDMC doesn't connect to the API, where (if it's available) is the .csv file with the trade data? Or do I have to manually scan with EliteOCR itself to create the .csv to upload to EDDB?
If you want to send data to EDDB over EDDN you have to run the EDMC or EliteOCR app.

If you want to send data to EDDB over EDDN you have to run the EDMC or EliteOCR app.

Thanks I'm aware of that. I'm at a station that EDMC can't connect too, so I use TCE to EliteOCR scan, that output file is an .xml file, which I can't upload. So to get the data sent I have to then run EliteOCR separately so I can then send the data. So I end up doing to scans twice, once with TCE and second time with EliteOCR.

So I was asking is there a way to convert the .xml to .csv file. All the converters I've found either don't convert it properly or convert it into several .csv files.

I'm at a station that hasn't been updated for over a year.

Found a problem with scrolling.

In the NAVIGATION PANEL / STAR SYSTEMS. Select an entry then start scrolling and eventually this error occurs. It also happens in STORED LOCATIONS and FLIGHT LOG tabs. I've not seen it happen in the MARKET PLACES TAB.

EDIT=====

I've just seen it happen in MARKET PLACES TAB. You have to quite TCE otherwise it keeps popping up all the time when in the NAVIGATION PANEL once it's happened.

Okay I am at a station all details are correct, I hit connect it says success even gives an auto destination but no market data.

i run the EMDC all the time it sees the correct station, also have the Ocr installed.

How do I get it to display the market data, haven't done many markets yet but this is the only one I have found that doesn't want to play ball.

Do I need some more plug ins or signed up to something else for these occasions.

Unfortunately I am still seeing an exception whenever I try to alter a commodity price. This, combined with EliterOCR not correctly picking up prices (it did pretty well for around the time I used mk1) means that the tool is not useful right now :(

Sorry, but your report isn't useful. Please check the FAQs, how to report an error.
EliteOCR picking the prices correctly, but you have to train it.

If EDMC can't provide commodity data after the use of the "CONNECT" button, you can recognize it at the position display, showing still "UPDATE REQUIRED" for a new market and not the current date.
If TCE shows an Auto-Destination, there are commodity data present. Look at the Trade Advisor (Trade Overview panel), what commodity is displayed to trade with.
If commodity data are available, open the Commodity panel > View Prices. All price data for each commodity is displayed there.
If you want to get the price data with EliteOCR (you have to train it before you can use it, read the EliteOCR thread, how to train), select Scan Prices at the Commodity panel. You have to scan each page of the commodity screen of ED.

Please read also the TCE Manual for additional informations.

I'm afraid we don't keep a Whips and Chains section to train it.... :) Rolled up newspaper doesn't work either :)
