Release Trade Computer Extension Mk.II

Slight problem, or misunderstanding of functionality.

On the REGIONAL SUMMARY TAB, when a star system has 1 station there is a DESTINATION button

But when a star system has more than 1 station the DESTINATION button is no longer there.

Also when clicking on a station in both the above scenarios most of the bottom screen is blank, is that correct, and again you can't set the station as your destination.

The Destination button disappears only for the actual star system, you are currently. The blank area is a bug and will be fixed with the next update.

There seems to be a issue with the clock, despite selecting to display the clock it does not display the next time TCE is started.

Eventure,

The clock setting doesn't stick between uses of TCE. When I turn on the clock, it's fine. When I shut down TCE and later start it, I have to turn the clock back on again. I think this may be working as intended, but wanted to let you know anyway.

Found the bug and will be fixed with the next update.

This is a great addition, well done.

I have noticed that the odd time some systems I add don't connect to the rest of the db of systems, they seem to be stand alone. When I jump back into systems that link up in the DB all is normal but the stand alone system isn't listed.
Is the program limiting an area for trading? what i mean by this is that each area of the galaxy map is seen as a region so that not all systems are loaded at one time to cut down on memory use etc?

Just trying to understand why some systems don't link up with the rest.

Argo.

Hello Argonaught,

the Navigation panel displaying only star systems, trade stations and store locations, which are within the selected Trade Range of your current position. The Region Summary only systems within your selected Region Range.

Hey Eventure,
seems to me the option to start TCE first, ED thereafter isn't working anymore.
Everytime i do that, TCE doesn't recognize changing positions. Have to restart it to get it working.
The option to reinitialize pos-detection has gone, would it be hard to get it in again?
Not quite sure when that started happening, could be one or two patches ago...

Hi,

There seems to be a problem with uploading to EDDN via EDMC. It's all configured, and EDMC is installed, validated and working. Adding a new market or updating an existing one does just what it should, and I can see an outgoing SSL connection to the companion API.

The issue is that if I monitor the EDDN logs on ross.eddb.io, nothing arrives if I've triggered the update from TCE2. If I use the "Update" button in the EDMC, the update is sent correctly.

The EDMC files in "EDMC_Data" are created correctly, and I've checked it's not a firewall issue.

Any ideas? Is it intentional that the EDMC integration only creates local files?

Cheers,
Jim

TCE doesn't send or receive data to/from EDDN - whether the data is sourced from EDMC, EliteOCR or manually entered.
This is a deliberate choice.

This is a deliberate choice.

TCE just uses the command line version of EDMC to get the info from the FDev API, no 3rd party data is used or updated, and as such EDMC doesn't need to be running.

So if you're wanting to update EDDB then you need to manually update EDMC

Hi,

more Information xD! Sry, I fear I cannot. There were no error-messages showing up. Just the Database was still the preinstalled one except Adam Station and Medupe City.

Maybe its the way I use the TCE? I only add markets, no systems nor stars.I doubt that it will help, but thats the Datacount I got in the DB

I sent you my Database, it is now named X.

Hi

Thanks a lot for this guide (on page 74 from Cmdr Punkerich), so far its really the only one I have found. I have managed to get it working. Im sure my minor problems have been answered before, but if you dont mind i'll ask again. I'm having difficulty adding a new location. I added a couple and it seemed to know and I got a save button. But Ive tried to add a couple of places but no save button.

Im not actually sure what I do once I have added stations, but Im hoping I can work that out :)

Thanks for all the work on this

Hi pal, pretty sure you missed a required field, then. Most likely distance from star. And always use ENTER when submitting a number field.
If you just click in another field the save button won't show up, afaik.
Even if the location is known (unregistered market) there's sometimes a detail missing which you'll have to enter yourself.

Update (1.1.8) released:

Changelog:
- Fixed an issue with the translation routine at the Star System Database panel.
- Fixed an error when using DATE and TIME filter together in the Logbook tab of the Navigation panel.
- Fixed an issue when selecting a star system in the Region Summary tab of the Navigation panel.
- Fixed an issue not showing the clock again after a restart of TCE.
- Fixed an issue not allowing to start TCE before the launch of ED resulting in a frozen position detection.

Note:
Copy the content into your TCE folder to update your version.

Capture.JPGI get this error message when I try to add a new market to the default database. TCE crashed earlier today when clicking on the Commodity Tab but I didn't keep a note of what it said.

I have reinstalled TCE and added the 150 station database and this seems to work but I want to discover these star systems myself so have gone back to the default one.

What can I do to fix this?

Thanks
Dave

Hi Dave,

please try to run TCE as admin.

I have TCE running as Admin. I am in the hanger in Fairbairn Station but TCE shows my current station as Worlidge Terminal.
When I fly to Worlidge Terminal and land, TCE shows me as being at LHS 3447 : Sector 53. Worlidge Terminal is in my TCE Database so it should show correctly.

It is almost as if the database has become corrupted. My current position is shown as Sector 53 but if I go into Database => modify entry it shows Worlidge as Sector 52.
Do I wipe my database and start again?

Dave

ps. Now flown to Fairbairn Station but TCE shows it as Oleskiw Station

I didn't think so, the Starter Database was created more than one year ago and with the following updates of Elite, Frontier could have made some changes to the Sector ID for certain stations. So if you discover a station, which is not at the proper Sector from the database point of view, change it to the correct Sector ID with the Database panel and TCE will find it again.

Is there a way to add commodity data to a market that doesn't exist? I'm in Hyades Sector OO-P B6-4 and landed at Coblentz Silo, which has a market. The silo didn't appear in the "Database">"Markets">"New Entry", so I created it by entering Name, System, Etc, but TCE seems unable to pull down any market data.

You can add commodities by hand or by EliteOCR (Commodities > Scan Prices). But of course, the station has to be stored before. EDMC can't deliver the commodities for some stations, because Frontier doesn't provide the data to the API.

It looks as if some of the Sector IDs had changed over the couple of days in which I had been playing. I have now been to each of my stations (only 12 thank God!) and fixed those that were wrong.

Your Starter database appears correct, the problem was with my own database. Maybe it was corrupted when TCE crashed earlier. I think it worthwhile to make a backup after each day's play to reduce the impact of this happening again.

Thanks for your help.

TCE making a backup each first start of a day. You will find them at the BACKUP folder of TCE.

I just of today started getting Black Screens when TCE is updating data. The game screen is totally black and and three pop-up panels (WAYPOINTS; CREDITS; SUMMARY) are black as well. The period of time it is black for is between 2 and 5 seconds then all is OK again. it doesn't happen every time, it happens every time after CONNECTING.

I've seen this before but it's usually happened so infrequently it wasn't worth reporting. I'll monitor more carefully during todays gaming session, and report back.

TCE during the update consumes 20% CPU bandwidth, however I rarely get to 100%, most of the time total CPU usage is between 85% and 97%.
