EDMC, if used with the command line and TCE uses it, not sending any data to online databases. If you want to send your EDMC data to EDDB, you have to use EDMC from it's own UI.

That part I forgot to mention, as I have the UI up as default anyway.
for some odd reason the trade computer thinks I am in space but I am docked.
What does it show in detail? Sector ID or Cruising?
If Sector ID, you have to register the current market/location before TCE knows, on what market you are.
If you have registered the market before, please check the Sector ID of the stored market, if it is the same as your current postion. Change it to your current Sector, if the ID differs.

Just asking do I need to use the EliteOCR program?
EliteOCR is used as a backup when EDMC fails to get the data from FDev, as some stations have issues, mainly outposts. This doesn't happen very often but when it does then you'll need EliteOCR installed so that TCE can use it to scan the commodities screen.

Can someone tell me what controls the point at which TCE updates the location that I am at please?
The reason why I am asking is that TCE now appears to take some time to update it's location, sometimes I can dock at a station and still be showing the previous location.
TCE can then take a minute or more to update the correct location.

TCE checks every 10 secs. your position/the net log file, but some open panels pause the position detection, e.g. all database panels, Commodity panel, Route Finder panel, Route Planner panel and Trade panel.
When closing the panel, TCE resume the detection. What version of TCE you are using?

Otherwise, make a copy of your current TCE folder and import the database from your copied folder into your actual version. If there is an error within, TCE should repair it while importing.
