Release Trade Computer Extension Mk.II

Full-Version (1.2.6) and Update (1.2.6) released:

Changelog:
- Fixed X/Y/Z star system coordinates delimiter issue for international region settings.
- Fixed wrong keybind displays at the Configuration window.

Full-Version Note:
This full version requires a new installation of TCE and an import of your old database from a previous version. Do not install this full version over your old or loading a backup from an older version.
Please check here, how to install a new full version, when used an older version before.
Question: What I have to do, when a new version of TCE is released?
Answer: With every FULL release, pls do the following:

1. Rename current TCE folder (e.g. C:\TCE.old)
2. Install new full TCE Version (e.g. C:\TCE)
3. Run TCE, go to Configuration, detecting the Paths (optional, because TCE copies your old TCE.ini file with an import).
4. Database Management -> Import from MKII -> Choose old folder (C:\TCE.old)

With an UPDATE release, copy the contents of the file into your current TCE folder and overwrite all required files.

Update Note:

Copy the content into your TCE folder to update your version.

So, just to make sure I get what's going on:

1. TCE works as always stand alone.

2. To get market data into TCE, you can:
a. manually enter
b. update Elite ocr with new commodities and use elite ocr (ver #?).

3. EDMC is not updated with 2.1 weaps (outfitting) or market (commodities) and will not be updated anytime soon, if at all. So EDMC/TCE functionality is not working.

I'm now getting this error when importing and each time I select OK the next STAR SYSTEM ENTRY errors, I've clicked through the error 18'ish times then it proceeded to import as normal. This is caused by having TCE on a Google Drive and the drive running in the background syncing causing the I/O error. I believe I've had this before, might be worth putting in the FAQ.

Otherwise the fix works, thanks muchly...

EDMC will be updated soon, when Otis B. is back, about a week, he said. You can use EliteOCR instead, the current version missing only the new commodities.
So hack them in, train, if necessary and you are good to go.

Ah, thanks!

I will fire up OCR 0.8.0.2 and add the commodities from post 1390 in this thread. That should hold me over until Otis works his magic.

edit* What was the name of the font that TCE defaulted to if "eurostyle normal" was not installed? BTW...you not only added choice of font, you added a preview of the one you choose...very nice.

Did a clean install of 1.2.6, set verbose via TCE, imported MKII db ok. Everything went fine until launching TCE, got error:

Error: Wrong data format: 28} System:"HIP 19072" StarPos:(-54.281

Then on clicking "ok", got:

"ERROR in 4.Startsequence: Argument 'Length' must be greater or equal to zero.

FWIW, Hip 19072 was the place I was docked at when I started playing today. I am now in Maia. However, I have not used TCE since beta started, so not sure where it's pulling HIP from...

I hit "ok" again and TCE started. I launched ED but TCE didn't detect my location. I restarted TCE and got no errors this time. It correctly detected my location as in Maia.

It looks like Liquid Oxygen is in the wrong spot. It is listed by TCE under Consumer Items, but in ED under Chemicals. (edit: I tried to change it in TCE via database/wares/modify, and it let me, but it appears it did not take..yes I hit 'save'. It still puts Lox in consumer items.)

For some reason, ED has CMM Composites above Ceramic Composites. TCE correctly puts them in alpha order though (Ceramic Composites above CMM Composites). I'll have to file a bug report for that one.

edit* Alright, who turned off auto merge???

edit2* Need to add "survival equipment" to Elite OCR. It is already in TCE.

Hi Eventure,

It's me again...8-((

Using 1.2.5 I have imported my database but no locations are showing in the destinations panel.

The database panel has the markets.

What am I doing wrong please?

Hi Eventure,
I had a computer crash while I was entering star data for the Niets system and now I get an error "Wrong data format: 57} System "Niets" StarPos:9.844" followed by "Error in 4.Startsequence: Argument 'Length' must be greater or equal to zero."
I have tried copying my database to a separate location and then deleting the TCE installation and then installing a fresh 1.2.5 and then importing the old MkII database but the error comes back with it. I tried to delete the Niets system and any bases there but when I enter TCE after the two errors the database is locked.
I know you are busy right now with the Engineers update but when you have time I would really appreciate some help because I would hate to lose the data I already have.

Trying with a fresh install/fresh db of 1.2.6. I'm still unable to get the in-tce ocr to read the new commodities. They show up in the View list, I have manually entered them into my separately installed Elite OCR, but every time I hit scan it just ignores the new items. What am I doing wrong?

I fear I've grown too dependent on TCE for my enjoyment of the game, and combined with with changes to the parts of the game I enjoyed most I feel like I haven't gotten an ounce of joy from ED since the newer, shinier, greater blah blah yesterday... I can understand adding new content, but leave well-enough alone. Sorry, Eventure, I know that's not your fault, just... /rant off.

Morning!

Coordinates issue all fixed, and certainly sped up my return to populated space from my exploration tour.

Now back on edge, and getting a message when entering new stations, when they were unregistered. Seems to work though. Afraid haven't got message box, but was displaying a mix of true and false against database fields.

And re EDMC

It is largely working for me - is bizarrely missing Animal Meat but otherwise seems to work fine. I saw a tip elsewhere about logging into Frontier Store so those with issues should try that.

Please update to the V1.2.6. It should fix your problem.

VerboseLogging was not activated, when your error happens. Restart ED, thereafter TCE and all should be fine. In addition, please use the TCE V1.2.6.

To all: I recommend using the AppConfigLocal.xml from my FAQs to finally remove the issue in reactivating the VerboseLogging parameter. Because with every update of ED, the AppConfig.xml file is removed and created new.

Please check, if they are really within EliteOCR. Had sometimes the issue, that I entered all goods, but after closing and restarting EliteOCR, they were gone.

Hi Eventure. I've messed it up and I'm not sure how:-

The co-ordinates between my old db and the new one post patch are wildly out as you can see - in no way is anything 200,000 + LY away from anything in the bubble.

Any suggestions?

There are some changes with the EDMC data output for Animal Meat and others. Here are a list of changes spotted so far:

Animal Meat => Animalmeat
CMM Composite => C M M Composite
HN Shock Mount => H N Shock Mount

You have to change the names of the commodities in TCE, so TCE recognize them properly though EDMC. The problem is, that EliteOCR scans and EDMC data differs now, so you have to stick either to EliteOCR or to EDMC. Only Otis can fix this issue.

The galactic averages changed again from the last day of the beta to now. There is a bug, when changing the galactic averages through the Commodity panel, so don't use it. Use the Wares Database panel to change the values. I will release a fix for it today. When EDMC gets his update, I will add also an automatic update of the average prices.

Update (1.2.7) released:

Changelog:
- Added message box, if ED has to be restarted, if verboselogging is not active.
- Fixed editing of galactic average prices through the Commodity panel.
- Moved new Liquid Oxygen commodity to chemicals category instead of consumer goods (applied at start).

Note:
Copy the content into your TCE folder to update your version.
