Release Trade Computer Extension Mk.II

@Small progress update:
I'm currently preparing the next step of enhancing the exploration part for TCE users, that will give you the ability to easily add the cartography data and pictures of all stars and planets of the game,
which can't be added through the DSS. Additionally, I will add translations for all star types, planet types, atmospheres, volcanisms and elements. Also the star types will get a more meaningful and readable form.
Ofc, all reported bugs got fixed too.

Planning to release the V1.5 for the coming week, so stay tuned.

Can't wait to see this fab work from as always..

dee..

No, you can't do it by hand, you have to do it with the launcher. Was a catch question :)

When using a fresh install, which is required with the 1.4.9+, and starting the first time, without doing anything to the installation before, you should be able to see the launcher and execute the transfer from the database window.
After you have transferred you old database to the new version, did you verified the databases afterwards, or fails the transfer? I can't figure out, what you did before receiving the error message.

Maybe use the Report an Error button from the old installation launcher to send me your databases from the 1.4.8 for a check.

When I start TCE after installing the new version, it imediately gives me the error messages. And then it closes the board computer when I press OK in the error message. So I can't get into the database tab. Just reinstalled the 1.4.8 to send you a report.

Ah, I needed to install the new version to a different folder. And then transfer from the old folder. Think it works now. Thanks for the support!

UPDATE: Star Class not updating correctly after Detailed Discovery Scan when Star Class is sorted to UNKNOWN.

If I don't manually change it after sorting and then Jump to a new Star System the Star Class is updated correctly and is maintained.

Full-Version (1.5) released:

Changelog:
- Added new feature to add all star systems to the cartography database, which can't be added by scan or is already known.
- Added translations for star types, planet types, atmospheres, volcanisms and elements.
- Added a Range filter to the Cargography panel, showing only star systems within the specified range around your position.
- Added a tooltip icon to the database panels, to inform the user, what to do.
- Added dozens of new text phrases to the TCE Translation Project, which require translation, at OneSky (see below).
- Changed some star type names to be more informative.
- Fixed a rare issue when resizing the size or font of a panel.
- Fixed an issue showing commodities data even the market has no commodity market.
- Fixed an error when checking the System View of the Cartography panel.
- Fixed an error when changing the Trade Range at the Navigation panel.
- Fixed an error when sorting the star class at the Navigation panel.
- Fixed an issue adding restock expenses to modules.
- Fixed an issue when undocking quickly from a market after landing and the auto-connect delay, if active, is counting down.
- Fixed an issue with the scrollbar at the Cartography panel.
- Fixed an rare error with the upgrade function at the launcher.
- Fixed some misleading phrases at some panels.

Notes:
This full version requires a new installation of TCE and a transfer of the databases from a previous version. Do not install this full version over your old.
Please check here, how to install a new full version, when used an older version before.
1. Rename current TCE folder (e.g. D:\TCE.old).
2. Install new full TCE Version (e.g. D:\TCE).
3. Run the TCE Launcher.
4. Select Database -> Transfer -> Choose old folder (D:\TCE.old).
5. After scanning, select Start Transfer.
If you find an error, please report and use the Report an Error button at the launcher.
An updated manual will follow shortly.

I like to remind any user, who wants to use TCE in russian, french or spanish, to help in translating the
latest commodities and interface phrases at OneSky.
Thanks in advance.

Star System Summery.jpg

I may have missed it but on the Star System Summary there doesn't seem to be a way of changing the status from visited to scanned or explored. That's after installing v1.5.

A couple of small problems (not new ones), I'm unable to get the market database panel and the commodities panel to stay where I put them. Using the X,Y settings in the options menu, but they usually go back to the centre of the screen. If not right away they do after restarting TCE. Have the MainUI at the bottom of the screen, don't know if this causing the trouble.
Another, not a problem really, the account balance on the launcher is not updating. Hasn't updated for sometime.

Greetings Eventure. Fabulous program! Makes the game so much more fun and engaging for me.

Having a problem with the latest update. Actually, had this problem when I updated to 1.4.9.3 and was hoping the latest to 1.5 would fix it, but no such luck.

Installed update. Successfully transferred and verified database. Run program in borderless mode within game. That setting never changed.

When I start the program it gets to about 37% initialized and I get this error:

" Reading Records

Error while reading records on the table Cargo:SQL logic error or missing database
no such table: public_Cargo"

Program runs fine if I ignore the error.
When I hide the overlay, it never comes back up when I want it to. I can hear the noises when I use the proper keybind presses, but the overlay will not return.
When I exit Elite the overlay shows back up.

Like I said, I never changed any display settings in the game and checked them - nothing has changed from it's setting.

Thanks for your hard work.

Problem:
Clean install of 1.5
Did not update or use old databases as I barely had a chance to use 1.4
Very first star port I went to (not Okinura) added fine.
However every port visited afterward the real port name shows for a second then the GUI changes to "FSD Activation Okinura Approaching" and it stays that way and unable to add new port.

FWIW Okinura is bookmarked in my Galaxy map Favorites but I have not been there for a while and not with 1.5

Did you using multiple commanders/accounts?

I do have multiple accounts but have not used my 2nd for a while and never with TCE.
It is a combat career.

TCE getting the commander name from EDMC, is there your other commander/account selected?
Check the name in the TCE launcher and the one at the last Journal file, if they differ.

I may have missed it but on the Star System Summary there doesn't seem to be a way of changing the status from visited to scanned or explored. That's after installing v1.5.

As before clicking onto the star type or explorartion status opens a drop-down menu, as like the Summary panel.

TCE is checking every panel on start up or move, if it has an out-of-screen position and correct the issue (centers). So I assume you are using a multi-monitor setup? Did you activated the option for it at the Options panel?

Your TCE_Personal.db file is not from an actual version, so go into the database window of the launcher, select only the TCE_Personal.db database and hit the RESET button.
This error happens, when you have installed a new full version over your old or copied some or all databases by hand from an old version to a new version.

Please follow the guidelines, how to install a new full version at the FAQs or the release notes.

Can't recreate your issue, so I suggest to change the key for a test.
Is the MainUI not ontop, so it will show again on exiting ED, because it was visible but in the back of ED? When using ALT/TAB, can you see it again?

As before clicking onto the star type or exploration status opens a drop-down menu, as like the Summary panel.

1) That may be what's supposed to happen but I'm unable to change the State of a System or Update the Star Class of a System. Clicking the System Name, State or Star Class does not show any drop down menu, so I'm unable to change these as needed.

I figured it out, you need to click the State you want to change in the lower left panel.

2) I can confirm that the Star Class is now updated correctly when entering a new system that's not in the DB. However the Scoping State is not updated. But it is updated correctly after I have jumped to a new system.

Found the missing scoop entry, forgot it :). Will be fixed with the next update.

Clicking the state at the detail view was always the way, now it's in line with the Summary panel.

Not for me it wasn't, the drop downs were always shown previously, there weren't hidden as they are now. I now have to click the appropriate item I want to update for the dropdown to be shown. It's not a problem for me now I've discovered how to do it. But being hidden may confuse others, as it did me at first and MrJohnDC

Thanks for the prompt reply.
I fixed the TCE_Personal.db like you said and that fixed that problem.

Still having issues with TCE staying on top.
I am in Borderless mode, run with 2 monitors, but have TCE selected for my primary display the game is running on.
The main display comes up and things seem to run fine for a short time, but then the windows don't display anymore. Upon exiting the game the display is there and runs perfectly.

When I ALT/TAB it still will not come up. I thought it was a a problem caused by my anti-virus, so disabled that and did a clean install. Allowed TCE to be recognized by the anti-virus (Avast Pro) and that did not fix it either.
This has only happened with the latest update starting from 1.4.9

Fixed TCE_Personal.db using your help. Thanks. I have always followed the guidelines with upgrading. Don't know what happened this time.

I still have TCE MainUI disappear after a short while. Many of the tabs won't show up, or show up briefly until I move my mouse. Then the entire MainUI will disappear.
I ALT/TAB and I can see it, but it won't pop back up.
Upon exiting the game it is there and runs perfectly.

I use two monitors, but have TCE exclusive to my primary monitor that the game is running on.
This was never an issue until I updated to 1.4.9

The user Ibastavd had a similar issue (read here and his solution, read below) and he had two monitors too.

The problem, that TCE isn't ontop of ED, could be a driver issue (do you have an AMD GFX-Card?), but I am not sure. If you not have done it already, activate the Multi-Monitor option and the Monitor ID, where TCE should be displayed.

Hi Eventure,

This was my solution to TCE not staying on top, I think you've posted the wrong solution in the above post, hope that helps!

Kind regards
