Release Trade Computer Extension Mk.II

Cheers for the praise. +1. You don't even need an ADS to scan a Nav Beacon, just lock onto it and you'll scan it. And yes it gets all the data for that system just like you get after you've performed a Detailed Surface Scan.

AFAIK you still need to have an "Detailed Surface Scanner" (DSS) equiped if you want all the data from a Nav-Beacon scan. Without the DSS you'll only get the basic data. According to the journal there are four ScanTypes: Basic, Detailed, NavBeacon or NavBeaconDetail.

EDIT: from 2.4 The Return - Patch Notes (Player Journal):
  • Info about all bodies in the system added when scanning a Nav Beacon. If you have a Detailed Surface Scanner installed, this will include detailed info (such as materials available on landable bodies)

Nope. No scanners are required if you're going to scan a Nav beacon. It will give you all the information available.

EDIT: I may be wrong need to go check.....

2nd EDIT: Acording to the 2.1(1.6) Engineers Update: "Added the ability to scan a nav beacon to get the system exploration data for that system" so it should give you everything. Now I just need the time to go check in game :/

I have no fps drop when using 65k registered markets (on Win10).
This is not a TCE problem, AFAIK, it is a Windows bug with transparent forms and should be normally fixed with Aero Mode active.
Either Win 10 handles transparent forms differently, because there is no longer an option for the Aero Mode, or it was already fixed in the build.
I can't do anything in this case, because it's out of my range.

How right you were! [yesnod] I bit the bullet and upgraded from Win 7 to Win 10 over the weekend and although I have a lot of issues getting Win 10 sorted, my framerate problem with TCE has disappeared and ED is now flying at 60 fps with TCE - it is limited to 60fps max at present - and I will see what the max is once I have the Win 10 installation finally sorted.

One surprising issue with Win 10 was that TCE would not run until I set the shortcut to admin mode, yet I did not need that under Win 7, I am the admin and the one and only user of the PC and the folder has full permissions anyway.

Also my TCE text to voice was a nice female voice under Win 7, yet it has mysteriously changed to a man's voice in Win 10 with no changes applied from me apart from having to run in admin mode!!

Thanks Eventure, Rob

I've only scanned the NAV BEACON when I've had DSS installed, so I can't confirm if it's detailed when you scan without it.

It just gives the astronomical data for each body in the system, it doesn't give the composition data that you get from a DSS - so it is as if you had disco-scanned the whole system and then done a level 2 (i.e. non-DSS) scan of each body.

Eventure, I had a couple of feature requests that may have been buried during bAdbUds informative posts.

1) I was hoping that the search feature of the Cartography section would allow for a pull-down menu, instead of text-entry, for "Composition." Arguments for: Eliminates potential spelling errors, and the materials are a known set of items.

2) I was also hoping that TCE could allow for the searching of ring types, both quality and composition. For those of us who mine and use TCE to sell the proceeds (surely I'm not the only one??), this would be a very, very useful feature. Ideally, the quality of Rings for systems that have them would be also listed in the Navigation Panel for quick access.

Anyway, cheers for all that you do.

Version [1.6.7] released

Changelog:
- Added Powerplay powers to the EDDB-Relay star system update.
- Added the ability to EDDB-Relay to include stations for the initial database, which are present in star systems, that are unknown to TCE (e.g. Colonia region).
- Added a complete rework for the Outfitting database, reducing the required file size by 80%. Unfortunately, previous stored outfitting data can't be transferred. Refill the database with EDDB-Relay.

HELP! lol

So I had taken a bit of a break from ED and started again about a week or so ago.

I waited until today to update TCE to the most current version. I thnk I was running too old of a version to do an auto update? So I did the old kind. Downloaded the new version.. renamed old folder. installed. Imported old data, verified and all went fine.

Now when I load up the game I get this popping up on the left side of my screen

Beta Journal Detected.
Journal Feed Deactivated
Change Game Version
At Launcher And Restart.

I have never ever played beta, or downloaded and installed beta stuff for ED. And all was working fine up until about midnight my time, or 8 am gmt/Game Time, and after I installed 6.7

Any help on fixing this? Not seeing any reports of anything so I'm guessing this is on my end.

adding more: I see no way to change game version on either launcher, unless It means don't run ED horizons 64 bit?
TCE in settings is showing game journal files = 0 but for Game Log Files =119
I'm on WIn 10, EDMC is 2.49 and showing ready to use in TCE. Tce is showing 1.6.7
Idk what kind of error report you are asking for (sorry), as nothing happens other than the above popping up momentarily on the left of my screen.

Too add a bit more: When I load up ED and load into the menu it says Journal feed activated. It pops up twice on the left side.. But when I actually load into or exit the actual game as my commander I get the above Beta journal stuff popping up.

So I'm thinking maybe something went wonky since I updated straight from 6.4.3 to 6.7 so I'm currently going to try updating from 6.4.3 database into each successive major update right now.

Ok so I went and started with my old 6.4.3 database. Installed 6.5 and imported. Installed 6.6 and imported from 6.5. Installed 6.6.8 and imported from 6.6 and then auto updated into 6.7.. All of these seemed to work fine. all entries were transferred, and they verified ok. After I updated to 6.7 and tried to launch the first time after all transferred it hung at 60% loading. I killed the task, its happened before.. When I restarted TCE it said 4 journals to process, seemed to process them fine and then TCE loaded up fine.

But I'm still getting the Beta Journal popups when I actually load my commander up.

So I'm thinking maybe something went wonky since I updated straight from 6.4.3 to 6.7 so I'm currently going to try updating from 4.3 database into each successive major update right now.

I am in the same boat. Started playing again with a fresh install last month. Exact same problem with the journal and TCE thinking I am running a beta version of ED. Want's me to go back to the launcher and restart with the regular non beta game version.

I submitted a ticket so hopefully if it's a common problem, it will get sorted out soon.

Have either of you tried running through the 3 step activation process from the launch menu? It Asks you to [1] Start the Game [2] Load the Game [3] Quit the game. If you haven't tried this give it a go. Go to SETTINGS and click START AUTO DETECT PROCESS.

No I hadn't.
Just tried that and still getting the same issue. And I didn't notice any changes in the settings panel after it finished either.

Can you or anyone confirm whether or not the tce settings panel should have anything next to game journal files detected (0files)?

If I hit the open game journal files button it pops up with the right dir. And plenty of journals showing including about 8 from today just from logging in and out of the game.

Thank you for your help and suggestion

Mine said 0 journals detected too. BTW I just got mine to work. Don't know if it will help you at all. I'm not exactly sure what did it either.

I started the game detection procedure with no luck.
Tried the EDDB database update thing. Just the vanilla 14 day default in settings.

And finally

Normally when I start TCE I start it before ED itself. This time I started ED, Started the game and then ran TCE.

No red text on the left, all started as normal. Started a mission and mission registered, click on missions and the destination popped up, market values worked.

So, I'm not sure what did it, but those are the last steps I did before it started working again.

Hmm. Ok lol. So I first tried launching ED and loading into game. Then launched TCE (I always did it the other way too) and it worked. So I then backed out to the ED menu and logged back in and the beta journal problem popped back up.

So then I exited both programs, went into TCE and updated EDDB and then launched TCE then ED and it is still the beta journal problem.

So then I simply left ED running and closed and reopened TCE while sitting in the star port and it appears to work. Lol so now the burning question is have I been loading things in the wrong order all along and just been lucky? I always thought you wanted TCE running first and then launch ED?

So it seems as long as I launch ED and load into the game and then load TCE it works. but there is still the issue that if I log out to main menu at all I'm going to have to restart TCE every time I re-enter the game.

But at present I can at least get it working. Anything else that may help figure out the issue would be great and I'll do all I can. I often have to log out and back in for bits of time and will just be a bit of a pain to have to keep restarting TCE.

Ok slight update lol: so I've been doing nothing except basically mode hopping with TCE running a few times, took a mission each time. Now Nothing pops up if I were to log out and back in, but TCE is not logging anything. But if I just restart TCE while in game in star port it will update the mission count once it starts up.

For now I will just let this matter rest a bit until either other suggestions come, or if Eventure has any ideas or requests. Idk of anything else to add or try at the moment

Thanks bAdbUd andAntmax for all the help so far.

Secondary question if the nuclear option were to arise.

If I started over with a brand new database in TCE what data would I actual lose? Is it just trade data? Or would it be everything? Would any data like exploration etc, be reacquired after loading into game if I did do a new one?

And as always a big thanks to Eventure for all the work put into this and helping out with issues. And thanks to all those who try to help with issues as well.

Eventure,

Thank you for the changes in Cartography to help with Mining. I have (hopefully) a small suggestion for usability. Sorry, but I don't appear to have an easy way to embed a photo, so here's a link:

https://photos.app.goo.gl/eIg1Nt51HPWyn5bf1

I don't know if the Journal pulls this information, but if this change is possible...

Reserves are either:

Pristine
Major
Common
Low
Depleted

And Type can be:

Icy
Metallic
Metal Rich (heads up: TCE currently has this as METALRICH without a space)
Rocky

If we could have two separate pulldown search fields for Mining, that would be fantastic. Thank you again.

You lose EVERYTHING. But you could start with a Full db that would included virtually ALL trade stations. But any Notes and Cartography data would be lost.

I'm a bit confused as to what the most current version is. I downloaded Version [1.6.6.8] installer from the main post, but after installing and running it, it "updates" to 1.6.6.7. Am I missing something here?
