Thanks,

I reported the bug, but no reply until now from Otis. We have to wait for the next release of EDMC.

edit: sorry mistaken on panel popping up

Question 1, does TCE upload data collected to EDDB using the EDDB relay, or is it just for downloading commodity prices?

Question 2, do you have to have EDMC to use the trade route finder/planner and other features to properly work? For the life of me so far I haven't been able to get them to work.

Also when I launch TCE I get a warning: Jump limit to low, where do I set that exactly?

Great addon specially if I can figure out how to use it all lol. Thx for your hard work and dedication

Hi there,

1. TCE don't upload commodity data, that is done by EDMC.
2. EDMC is also for collecting station data, e.g. commodities, outfitting, ships to buy or data about your currently used ship. I strongly recommend it to have actual data while travelling through space.
To find reasonable trade routes in your area, please check your Data Age filter setting at the Route Finder panel. Change the filter to increase the number of stations in the search.

The Jump Limit value is automatically set by EDMC, so again, install it to feed TCE constantly with up-to-date data.

There is a wiki for TCE (check my sig or the main post) to find out, how it works and what you can do with it.
Feel free to ask, if something isn't clear after all. We have a great community here, which is willingly to help.

Hi Eventure,

I just let ED install this Thursday patch. After I fire up TCE (newest version, thank you for the latest fast fix), TCE got stuck at 100% progress bar after clicking the launch button. I will send you a bug report with databases by mail.

Try verifying/fixing your db's prior to launching and see if that resolves the issue. As that's always a good thing to check first when an error occurs.

Please check, if you have selected a key at the Options panel to send the focus to TCE.
If so, please try to change it to a different key. Maybe there is an interference with a selected key in ED.
If not, please tell me, when it exactly happens, on what occasions.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Eventure. Sorry for the delayed response; got a new actual PC to replace running Elite Dangerous via BootCamp on my Mac so I've been MIA getting everything set up. The problem occurred even on the new PC, then I remembered to check here and saw your reply. I toggled the "Focus" setting to "Unassigned" and it seems like that has fixed the issue I was experiencing. Thank you for your help sorting this out.

I did have another issue though -- I've searched through the thread but can't find the post I once saw that I thought might have addressed this: I transferred my TCE databases (last run under 1.7.2) via the Launcher to a fresh install of TCE (1.7.2.2 from Post #6070: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...ension-Mk-II?p=6979372&viewfull=1#post6979372 ) on my new PC and everything seems fine except now when the Scan Protocol window appears after scanning a star or planet, it always shows the same generic picture in the bottom left with the label "IMAGE DATA MISSING". I could have sworn that previously it always used a picture that matched the type of body scanned. I looked in settings but can't seem to figure out where this might be going wrong.

Any pointers / suggestions?

Hi again,

the Scan Protocol panel showing always a default picture of a star or the related planet type after a scan.
They all reside at the Cartography folder of TCE (_StarTypes & _PlanetTypes). Check, if they are present.

There is also a 'CartographyPicturePath' entry at the TCE.config file. Check the entry, if it points to your current installation.

Confirmed the config setting you asked and the pictures are also correct and in place (20 and 54 png files across those 2 directories).

I literally changed nothing other than having my PC off overnight, and now things seem to be working ok. So... gremlins?

Thanks for the report, issue was fixed by updating the EDDB files at my fileserver.

Hi Eventure,

since it has been quiet here for a while, I thought i bring up a question about a new feature.[smile]

What do you think about adding some visualisation of the galaxy as in EDSM and where the route for an exploration is shown in advance and afterwards. Of course in advance it will be only from start to end via the waypoinnts (straight lines). But during the travels those straight lines can be updated with the actual coordinates of the visited systems.

There could be one map for all explorations and hopefully one for each exploration.

Well, this is only something, I think it would be nice.

Thanks for considering

Seems there's a small prob with the factions panel.
The first time when being activated via VA/Shortcut it doesn't open, and such hinders some other functions aswell.
When i close and reopen TCE it works fine.
I may add, TCE gets started before ED, via VA initialization commands.
Maybe i have to swap that, opening TCE last when already ingame?

Hi Eventure,

since it has been quiet here for a while, I thought i bring up a question about a new feature.[smile]

What do you think about adding some visualisation of the galaxy as in EDSM and where the route for an exploration is shown in advance and afterwards. Of course in advance it will be only from start to end via the waypoinnts (straight lines). But during the travels those straight lines can be updated with the actual coordinates of the visited systems.

There could be one map for all explorations and hopefully one for each exploration.

Well, this is only something, I think it would be nice.

Hi Homunk,

thanks for your suggestion, but there are no plans to extend the feature list of TCE, only fixes will be released actually.
I moved to another project, which consumes most of my spare time.

Can't replicate the issue, key shortcut is working properly, did you have tried to change the key itself?

Hi Eventure,

What a pity. But understandable. May be at a later date.[smile]

All the best for you and your new project. And many thanks for TCE II, a great tool and addon for ED.

Homunk
