Release Trade Computer Extension Mk.II

Hi. I've updated to v.1.7.3.2 and i still get the above error. T.C.E was showing I/O error but now when i select 'Connect' it states the Server Is Down'. Elite login page shows server status ok.

Any help please.

Regards

The "Server Down" message refers to the cAPI server status, which is usually up again within some days after a major release. It is not the game server.

How do you updated TCE, by the launcher or by hand?
Please send me a bug report incl. the error message (click the "Details" button at the message and copy it into your report.)
Thanks

Hi. Today the server down problem has dissapeared, truth to tell i probably panicked too early, as you say after a major release there will be some disruption.

Thanks for all you do for the community [up]

Hi. I have noticed that the Market Connector states 'Server is Down', perhaps this is causing the problems.

Regards

Apparently this is a known issue for the EDMC team and they are waiting for Frontier.

From Marginal on a thread in the "Issues" page on the EDMC Github:

"From 3.3 Frontier is changing the authentication mechanism for accessing the Companion API. Unfortunately the details aren't worked out yet."

So it looks like it's just a waiting game for now.

Been out the game for a while, have come back and updated TCE to the latest version/ Any update on EDMC, as it seem to be the only way to update trade commodities data within TCE now, unless there's another way.

Hi Eventure

A quick question that I need answering if you have the time.

I have taken the plunge and have purchased a second ED account on Steam. My original one however is the plain vanila version through Frontier. Although TCE supports multiple commanders I am a little uncertain where to point the files to.

The application path for both installations is different as one is Steam & the other isn't, the Game logs path is also different, however the Journal files path is OK as this is under the user files on the C: drive.

My question is:
will the paths detect themselves when I log on with either commander or will I need to set them each time I change commanders and are there any other issues I should be aware of.

Thanks

Preparing an update actually, which will bypass the EDMC query requirement to receive station data and use the build-in output for commodities, outfitting and shipyard from ED itself.
It will be necessary to enter the commodity, outfitting and shipyard screen at a station to update the data.

It is a fallback solution, if the cAPI for ED is down.
When it comes back, your could use the CONNECT button as before.

Why not using both accounts with one installation?
If not possible, you could use a second installation of TCE (one for steam, one for non-steam).

Thanks for the release, I tried using the Report a Bug button but I've never been able to get it to work. It tries opening mail apps on my computer that I don't use.

Anyways, I just wanted to report a small bug, when using the Navigation Panels filter, the "Only Populated Star Systems" filter doesn't work. It still lists a lot of 0 population systems.
Also, using "Unregistered Markets" and "Registered Markets" together looks only for systems with both, instead of listing all systems with either.

Thank you!

Edit: One other thing I noticed, sorting systems by population ignores the "mil" "bil" suffixes and just sorts based on numbers. Something weird is going on with the decimals as well, 8.35 mil is sorted higher than 82.57 mil.
If you got this working it would also be very helpful!

Thanks for the report, all noted issues were found and fixed with the next update coming this weekend.

Jump limit too low

Hi Eventure,

I have just upgraded to the latest version - thank you for your work - but I now keep getting a whinge message when I log in, and try to do anything with trade - 'Jump Limit Too Low'.

I have googled this, and had a dig around, but can't work out what I need to change or update to correct this?

Version [1.7.3.4] released

- Fixed an issue with the Registered/Unregistered filter setting at the Navigation panel.
- Fixed a small display issue at the Commander tab of the Personal panel and Launcher.

Because EDMC isn't working actually, where I get the jump ranges for your current ship, you can now edit these values at the Personal panel with the latest release.

Hi Eventure,
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and wish you all the best for 2019.

And I thank you for the creation and your work on TCE in the past years.

Now, I do have a wish regarding TCE and the last ED update. [yesnod]

With the new scanning modes, ED scans automatically a system when entering it. Usually close objects, like belt clusters, other stars and even planets are detected.
TCE then adds all scanned objects to the scan protocol and they are marked as "autoscan". So far so good.
What causes problems, is the fact, that thereafter, the mainstar is not automatically selected, as it was before (because it was the only object I had scanned at that time). I usually make a photo of the mainstar and therefore the camera panel is opened automatically after a scan.
Now I have to open the scan protocol first, wait until ED has finished the autoscan and all objects are listed at the scan protocol, select the mainstar and select "Take picture".

If it would be possible to have the same object at the scan protocol selected as the one in game, that would be great.

What do you think?

Thanks Homunk, hope you doing well too.

Sadly there is no way to identify, what body or star you have selected as a target in game to synchronizing it with TCE.
I have prepared a routine for the next version, where the main star stays selected after an AutoScan, so you would be able to take a picture as before, without manual selecting the star.

Will send you a PM with the link for a test run.

Apologies I'm probably asking a stupid question, but it wasn't obvious for me.

The top UI is aligned to the left side on my screen. I'm running 3440x1440, I did see options to move panels but clicking some of them wouldn't let me move them, other than the couple at the bottom.
Is there a quick way to centre the top UI at all?

Sure, you can!

All panels could be moved by click+hold onto the panel name. For the Main UI, you have to select CONTROLS > PANEL to display the panel name. It will appear below the TRADE button. You can move it from the top to the bottom or center it, if you like. The three bottom panels (Waypoint, Credit and Summary) could be also be moved to the top. They will adapt accordingly.

Ah brilliant, thank you! I must of picked everything but that one
