"Transferring items from ship storage to backpack" Issue still not resolved since 3 years.

I first came across this issue 1 year ago when I tried to give Domino Green those 5 Push she needed to recommend me to the next engineer. Since then I was unable to make any progress and after countless of trying different methods and opening issues to FDev just for them to ignore them multiple times (and apparently they flagged the issue as being solved which is false) I ditched the game completely because I became so fed up with FDev's horrible support of not just this but other amounting bugs and issues in the game. Today after 6 months I decided to jump back in, look at the newest updates and see if there's any of the issues resolved.

And surprise: of course they're not, apart from the mediocre new ships that are building on microtransactions and the new powerplay NOT A SINGLE Issue that bugged me got resolved. The worst of them being that I still can't give Domino Green those 5 Push to unlock the next engineer.

The game is unplayable for me because of a simple bug that's at least 3 years old despite being reported by not just me, but other players too.

As of now, I just opened this new issue where I'm explaining the bug, trying my luck once more and I will keep you updated on it and the response of FDev in this thread.
This thread here also gets into the details of the bug.

You don't need to xfer items to your backpack - you can use them from the ship whenever you are in a station.

Not sure what your issue with Domino is - maybe you could add that. I wouldn't trust anything from that Logan guy - he struggled with a lot of simple stuff.

... and your new issue is broken.

Push just has to be in your inventory (including ship). It does not have to be in backpack (indeed backpack will empty when in most stations). This is true for anything that engineers require for referral, and for any items traded/ sold to the bar tender.

apart from the mediocre new ships
Hmmmmm....
The game is unplayable for me
Hmmmmm....

On topic, you don't mention any details that would be useful for us in guiding you, and your 'New Issue' link goes nowhere for me so if the detail was there then I can't see it.
My understanding would be that you should verify that you have 5 clean units Push in your ship inventory (Stolen might work too, but I don't know) and then go and speak to her on foot where you should have the option to deliver it, assuming you've met the requisite steps before that. (Been a while, so can't remember if she has any.)

If you've done that, I would clear out all the Push in your inventory and gather 5 'fresh' units before trying again.

No idea why my issue is not working but I had that problem a few unfortunately. Idk If that's on my end or theirs but I will try sending a new one on another browser or smth and see if that works later.

I'm also gonna try giving her five new (clean) Push instead, thanks for that tip I'll tell you know if it worked.

And no I can't access the ships storage on foot even though I'm in a station.

Forget what I said about those "mediocre new ships", I was very angry with the game yesterday, I still am, but not so much anymore lol. The game really IS unplayable for me though since It's very important for me to advance those engineers, I just don't have the motivation to continue playing since engineering is such a big part of the game.. but anyways... i will keep trying different approaches with your input in mind (when the server downtime is lifted) and update you on this thread. Thanks for the help so far.

Had the same problem earlier with Surveillance Equipment, my next mission I picked up the Smear Campaign Data I need but it does not show up at the bartender.
I went to far as to land on the nearest moon, download the data to my back pack. Dismiss the Ship call an Apex Cab, which worked for the Surveillance Equip;
but when I got to the bartender the smear data was magically on ship and I had wasted yet another 30 min. Look Guys you've known about this bug for years. All you have to do is let us manage inventory on station like we can everywhere else and that would solve it, but no. Instead you would rather waste your player bases time by not addressing a known, and persistent issue. Obviously bug fixes are not as much fun as New Content, but you know what bug fixes are part of being a professional developer. Now pls fix this slop.

On-foot inventory management is (and always has been) a mess.
You can transfer things to a fleet carrier and never be able to get them back. Frontier inexplicably closed this bug last year after one of the patches that was intended to fix transferring cargo between the ship and fleet carrier (that's still broken too - when they increased the UI acceleration, they forgot to make it stop when you reach the capacity limits so it oversteps and tries to transfer too much...)
Being maxed out on goods/data doesn't prevent you from taking missions that involve delivering those items, but it does mean you won't be given the mission item so the mission will be incompletable. Then if you abandon it you will be fined for "losing" the item that you were never given in the first place.

my next mission I picked up the Smear Campaign Data I need but it does not show up at the bartender.
Because that specific item is prohibited under the specific stations governance. Need to find an Anarchist or Communist station to sell the prohibited items.
but when I got to the bartender the smear data was magically on ship and I had wasted yet another 30 min
You don't need to transfer items you want to sell to a bartender to your backpack. Your global inventory is global.

I opened today this issue, about won't be able to transfer "Data" from "Storage" to my ship.
In the bug report you say the counter on the left goes down, but the counter on the right doesn't change; what's actually happening is it's moving a completely different item than the one you've got selected. The UI is broken in a particular way that prevents you from being able to transfer items only if you don't already have any on your ship/cmdr. The workaround is to never transfer all of a particular item to your carrier, always hang onto at least one to be able to transfer them back.

(And yes, Frontier know about it but as I wrote above they mistakenly closed the prior issue due to an issue report curator mixing up cargo with on-foot materials.)

Well, I have to go on foot missions to get at least 1 of all the items I use and don't have on my ship and never allow zero quantity on ship, because if 1 or more on ship bug does not happens...
Also does not happens when transferring from ship to carrier

Go to the issue https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/85654
Once there read the last post of page 2

I did it et voilà...I notice now that I have my exploration data back. 300 system scanned and lots of first scan ones.
About the bio data, I sold mine before the game update and therefore I have no problems with it but I think you should open one ticket and complain there about the loss of bio data, also.
Hope it helps...

PS. Forget to say that I don't really know if there was because I opened a "dedicated" issue https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/85888, my Exploration Data returned...

What does missing exploration data have to do with not being able to transfer materials from a carrier? The former is a temporary issue caused by server outages, the latter is a game-breaking UI bug.

Ups...sorry...as I had my problem solved (with or without intervention of Galactic Command) I deleted the issue to facilitate the job for Frontier staff.
