TV sharpening ideas

o7 Guys/Gals.

Help me out please.

I play on PC with an older 33 inch (84cm) LED TV
that can only do 1280x720 resolution. Are there any
in-game or xml graphics settings I can tweak to get
a sharper image? My main problem is the blurry small
text on HUD.

Something that won't kill my already meager FPS.
I already got AA set to tolerable levels and Bloom turned
down.

I want to stay away from 3rd party injectors like SweetFX,
ReSahade, etc.

Thx

You can get a smoother/better filtered image, via supersampling, but that is quite costly in terms of performance. You are also fundamentally limited by the native resolution of the display...can't really fake more pixels.

You might try turning down the FoV, which will make the HUD comparatively larger, at the cost of a narrower view.

Thank you Morbad. I'll check it out.

It's worth noting, if you are going to turn up Super Sampling turn down (or off) AA, especially on a system that is running close to minimum requirements. Using both will have a major impact on FPS.

That said, it might get be worth trawling the second hand market for something cheap to replace your old TV.

Thanks, as I mentioned, I tried everything with the AA settings. It's as good as I could get using those. My PC is sort of mid-tier in specs, FWIW.

As for a new TV, I also have a 44 inch Philips and a 33 inch Samsung both can do 3840x2160, that are less than a year old. The problem is, neither one can hold a stick to my old Panasonic when it comes to color. It's colors are downright gorgeous.

Oh well, one can't have everything I guess. o7
