Two Accounts - How to sync both with EDSM?

Hey there,

I bought Elite Dangerous for my other Steam account today just for having a second where I can do whatever I want other than exploring. Both ED copies are bought on Steam but I don't know how I can sync both of them with EDSM. I know that I have to create a second account on EDSM too. I use Elite Log Agent for uploading my journals to EDSM as I was having trouble uploading them with ED Discovery when I began playing back then. Now, my questions is, how can I upload my journals from two different ED accounts to two different EDSM accounts as Elite Log Agent doesn't support multiple accounts? As the last choice I could use a different computer but I want to spare me the time to set it all up if I can do it on my main PC.
Any suggestions or people who solved it?

EDMC supports multiple CMDRs

Where can I set this up? Maybe I'll have to update my EDMC cause I only see the option to point to the journals once and only can submit the API for one Commander.

Is it possible to use two different programs and set one up for the first Commander and the other for the second Commander? Maybe this would work. Any experiences on this?

EDMC will let you put the other API key in, when you're actively playing that other commander, if I recall. Whichever one it had last read from the logs last is the one whose config will be in the settings, I think.

You can also do this with EDDiscovery. It'll just get a bit confused if you play both commanders at the same time on the same computer. One at a time is no problem.

I tried to run my two commanders on my PC, but the 2nd attempt to run ED just switches to the screen of the one already running - how do I run both?

Which version are you using (Steam, Frontier's launcher, Oculus Home, etc)? It's easier if you have the game installed by two separate methods. But in all cases, you'll have to close the "launcher" part of Elite before it'll let you run a second one. That's fine, since the launcher doesn't actually need to be running anyway. But I'd recommend installing a second copy if you're not doing it through Frontier's launcher.

I am running the Frontier launcher. I have one for each account. I did close the 1st before starting the 2nd. The launcher runs ok, but clicking 'Play' just switches to the already running ED Client

Strange. I've never had that problem. But then, I mix installations, so maybe that helps. That is, I'll run one from Steam or Oculus, and the other from the Frontier launcher. The good news is that if you want to try that, you should be able to get a Steam key without paying anything, through the partner keys thing in your account on Frontier's site.

Thanks for the feedback. I will look at that, but I have tried to keep clear of Steam after problems several years ago ...

I think GoG also carries ED now, and the Epic store too. Though I don't know if they're included in the free partner-key thing or not.

Oh, something that I forgot to think about-- since you're using only one installation. When you launch the second instance, you'll have to log out of the launcher and log into the other account before you have it launch the game client. If a second client logs into the same account, it'll probably just kick the other one off, leaving only one client running.

mmm ... had hope there. But, it didn't work for me. Managed to get basic ED running on my old macbook with BootCamp, so will hopefully achieve what I have been looking for - namely get both my Cmdrs together for selfies!! - daft, but it is a LockDown here :p

Coincidentally I sort-of did the same thing today. Both commanders and their carriers were near each other in Temple, so I swung by to do some trade, and grabbed a selfie. :)

(both carriers have refueling T9s, so that's what you see here)
