Ships Type-10 Released!

What makes the T10 more anti-xeno than other ships?

It can field a really high number of the AX weapons. In that case the class-6 PD is not that big of a limitation because they don't draw a lot from the power distributor. Against Thargoids this ship will be very effective, especially for the price.

out of curiosity is there anything that hte T9 can do better than the T10? because if not i think the T9 IS now largely redundant, which is why i think it is even more important that FD give it the T7 treatment now to give it an edge at trading over the T10.

No, the T-9 has the same optional internals as the T-10 minus the military slots. The T-9 needs some love in the form of more cargo capacity now more than ever.

I am liking the Type-10. Looks great, has a decent jump range and turning in normal space is good. The only flaw for me is the terrible supercruise handling, but no ship is perfect. Good job FDev[big grin]

Hahaha, FDev have made another useless content again [haha] This ship is not defender, it's a feed for thargoids in case of comparison to cutter/corvette/anaconda.

But i thought you can only have four AX weapons?

Do you? Ugh. Okay, here goes: The anaconda is not just an endgame ship because people make it one. It’s an endgame ship because it’s stupidly maneuvrable for its size, has waaaaaay too much firepower to be fair, costs a fraction of the price of a federal corvette and performs about 60-80% as well, beating it by a large margin for cost/usability. It’s stupidly versatile, can do literally any profession in the game with style, so aside from all that, nothing endgame about at all -.-
Rigghht. As there is no actual endgame in ED, then I don't understand the need for end game ships. It is more powerful and can haul more cargo, sure, but for what purpose. All you can do is make more credits with them, to do what with? Basically having those big ships means just as much as having a Cobra.

As far as I am concerned, ship progression stops at a Cobra as a Cobra can do everything very well. Anything after that is a choice. An anaconda cannot do more types of gameplay then my Cobra.

Tl;Dr: since the type 10 costs about 120 mil and an anaconda 147 mil, and the python 57 mil so roughly half its price, it’s fairly reasonable to compare it to those ships. And, from what we can see, in terms of pure firepower, the slight more expensive anaconda blows it out of the water for basically any non-xeno activity. Which, last I checked, for quite a lot of players is... 100% of their game? That’s why you will see a few complaints about its pd here and there, if it was one class higher it would be pretty competive for pve choices etc.
Well, luckily for you, there are other ships available.

Oh maybe, I have never used an AX weapon or fought a Thargoid. Hence I am trying to think of another role for this ship that makes sense because it looks awesome and I just love the Lakon ships. Trading it will be ok but the Cutter will still be MUCH better. It won't be a great miner with the class-6 PD. It might be a fun explorer if it can get to the mid-30's for jump range?

You know, that’s kinda arrogant? Of course there’s a kind of end game in elite dangerous, otherwise you wouldn’t be able to earn more and more credits and get more an more expensive ships. Do you even understand human psychology? Bigger = better for a heck of a lot of people, also objectively so in this game as long as you have the skill to back it up.
Also, you’re kinda wrong about your cobra. Pretty sure it’ll get destroyed in any serious conflict. The only reason the anaconda technically can’t do more types of gameplay than your conda is because technically any ship in the game can any type of gameplay. At some point though you will have to admit that it’s suboptimal for a lot of things, and objectively inferior to the anaconda in many, many situations, especially combat. I’ll give you that it has its uses for planetary landings and smuggling, as well as outpost missions, but other than that if you want to earn the most money in the game per hour the anaconda is the ship for you.
which basically makes it endgsme since money = progress, and endgame = being able to make most progress per time unit, but not necessarily doing so.

A slot 1 can be used for cargo if you dont want to use other C1 modules, so its not wasted space.

BTW what does OCD stands for?
Obsessive-compulsive disorder. It’s when everything has to be just so, because otherwise it has a real negative psychological effect on the person (can become as extreme as anxiety type things, but probably severe discomfort etc as well).

The space cows aren't for me. My Python is enough of one for my tastes. Glad for those of you that are into these sort of ships though. :)

Looking forward to checking out the Chieftain when it comes out. I don't use SLFs, so I'm hopping it doesn't either. Definitely a cool looking ship either way though. Kind of looks like a frog to me.

Cheers.

Just do it whatever you like to do with it. You can still slap cannons on it and apply high capacity magazines.

I went once to Beagle Point in an FDL not because it was the best choice, but because I like the ship.

What was arrogant about my post? And I will still stand by what I said. What is this mythical endgame that people keep talking about, because it looks exactly the same as the gameplay I can do in my Cobra.

Experience so far:

  • Most of my Anaconda engineered stuff went into the T10.
  • The ship has a decent speed and around the same maneuverability as the Anaconda.
  • The T10 is a cool ship, never went above 65% of heat.

On my way to engineer my FSD, shield and armor.

This ship was designed to be a multi-crew platform.

For all intents and purposes it is small battleship.

To me an endgame ship is the ship that is optimal for earning credits in a given role, or is best at a certain role. By this definition you could argue that the Asp Explorer is an end game ship. It is for me for exploration :)
