Ships Type-10 Released!

Did frontier forget to upgrade the super cruise handling. With dirty drives this thing is a beast. Knocked out a mil creds in a haz res quite casually but as soon as entering supercruise it's absolutely appalling at handling.

What was arrogant about my post? And I will still stand by what I said. What is this mythical endgame that people keep talking about, because it looks exactly the same as the gameplay I can do in my Cobra.
Di you even bother to read my post? -.-

Try to understand that there is nothing ‘mythical’ about endgame. That you choose not to participate in it, cool. You’re one of the few people that doesn’t feel the need to do things on an increasingly larger scale. However, for the very, very large majority this will NOT be the case. Wanting to enforce your isolated viewpoint on that majority is what I called arrogant.

I just bought mine at Jameson. Approximately 400million space bucks later, I can say that she doesn't look too bad.

First impressions:
Hardpoints
4 Large/3 Medium/2 Small? That's a lot of multi-cannons for my fighting space cow!
Size 8 power plant? Nice! Plenty of utility slot power!
So many utility slots!
Size 6 distributor? Meh. But not as meh as it could have been.
Lots and lots of internals - plenty of room for hull packages.
Also... the jump range is not insultingly bad. I am pleasantly surprised. No lie, I was bracing for single digits.

I took her out for a spin. Big pig? Yup. But not nearly as drift-piggy as I feared she might be.

I haven't gone hunting yet, but I'm pretty darned excited to mow the lawn in VR.

Still, though: 400million for a vicious battle cow? That was a hefty purchase. I really hope she doesn't let me down in the RES. If she pans out, then I'll ditch my gunship.

This... Is a well known issue for any explorer. “My conda has amazing handling! Oh, oh it’s a brick in supercruise.”
Really annoying that thrusters don’t translate into more maneuvrability in sc.

Experience so far:

  • Most of my Anaconda engineered stuff went into the T10.
  • The ship has a decent speed and around the same maneuverability as the Anaconda.
  • The T10 is a cool ship, never went above 65% of heat.

On my way to engineer my FSD, shield and armor.

This ship was designed to be a multi-crew platform.

how should it go into heat when there isn't even enough energy in the distributor to heat it up.

Can we get some in-cockpit screenshots up in here, please? Thanks :D

Yeah, it just seems far more obvious in the type 10

Dude, this the third time in this thread you've mentioned your exclusive love for the teenie tiny ships. You do realize that you're the minority right?

Just do it whatever you like to do with it. You can still slap cannons on it and apply high capacity magazines.

I went once to Beagle Point in an FDL not because it was the best choice, but because I like the ship.

FdL is a fine ship for the job, provided can get it to reach Beagle Point well enough and don't mind putting in the effort for it, and of course assuming that you like exploring over racing. Has a competent fuel scoop potential.

I'd like taking my combat loaded Vulture explorer ship out to Beagle Point, but I'm not one for jumponium nor star boosting, so I can't reach it. I plan on taking my Cobra out there at some point though.

As a ship apparently created to combat the Thargoid threat, what capabilities does it possess that are missing from other ships?

What's the must-have factor that's going to make a CMDR throw money at it (other than "it's new")?

Oh maybe, I have never used an AX weapon or fought a Thargoid. Hence I am trying to think of another role for this ship that makes sense because it looks awesome and I just love the Lakon ships. Trading it will be ok but the Cutter will still be MUCH better. It won't be a great miner with the class-6 PD. It might be a fun explorer if it can get to the mid-30's for jump range?

You just need to be smart about the loadout, and that distro will do just fine. Mine is going to be an armed in-RES miner:

2x large burst turrets / 1x med on the bottom
2x large gimballed multicannons
2x small railguns
2x med mining lasers

Given that a fighterbay is going in there, it can't fit the limpets to keep up with 3 medium mining lasers anyway, so the distro limitation is irrelevant.

If you wanted something a bit more multipurpose, put gimbal or turreted pulse or burst lasers in the mediums, rails or missiles or something in the smalls, and 4x large cannons, multicannons, or frags are all going to give you serious firepower and no real problems with the distro.

To me an endgame ship is the ship that is optimal for earning credits in a given role, or is best at a certain role. By this definition you could argue that the Asp Explorer is an end game ship. It is for me for exploration :)

For me it what I like to fly the best. Earning credits doesn't really mean much to me. What is the point in having billions of credits if you can't use them for anything.

That is your definition of endgame in ED, which is perfectly valid, but it is your choice. It is not my definition of endgame. It is precisely why I said the ship progression stops at the Cobra part and anthing after that is personal choice and personal goals.

You have decided that you want to have the optimal ship for earning credits. I have nothing against that. It's perfectly valid. Just not my cup of tea.
