Ships Type-10 Released!

As a ship apparently created to combat the Thargoid threat, what capabilities does it possess that are missing from other ships?

What's the must-have factor that's going to make a CMDR throw money at it (other than "it's new")?

4x large for AX large weapons, plus the usual advantages (tons of hull, dual fighters etc).

You just need to be smart about the loadout, and that distro will do just fine. Mine is going to be an armed in-RES miner:

2x large burst turrets / 1x med on the bottom
2x large gimballed multicannons
2x small railguns
2x med mining lasers

Given that a fighterbay is going in there, it can't fit the limpets to keep up with 3 medium mining lasers anyway, so the distro limitation is irrelevant.

If you wanted something a bit more multipurpose, put gimbal or turreted pulse or burst lasers in the mediums, rails or missiles or something in the smalls, and 4x large cannons, multicannons, or frags are all going to give you serious firepower and no real problems with the distro.

Yeah I'm looking forward to everyone's favorite mining Narn's view on how to get the best out of this ship as a miner. 777Driver too.

It will be very amusing if this ship carves out a niche as an explorer.

To be fair it's the only reason I'd use a T9 as well.

If FD gave me the T9 bridge on an iCutter, I don't think I'd fly another ship but that and the iCourier again. T9 bridge is lyfe.

Anyone able to upload a shot of the bridge of this thing?

Handles quite nice a-speced, not engineered yet. ill try it with a class7 prismatic and the god bank 8a. First impression.. this is the big brother of the gunship.

Experience so far:

  • Most of my Anaconda engineered stuff went into the T10.
  • The ship has a decent speed and around the same maneuverability as the Anaconda.
  • The T10 is a cool ship, never went above 65% of heat.

On my way to engineer my FSD, shield and armor.

This ship was designed to be a multi-crew platform.

What Class of FSD does the T10 use? I have read that it uses a 6 Class slot? I've got a +56% OM G5 upgraded 6A in my Anaconda which would be an excellent and quick way of determining the T10's potential Max jump range.

I would prefer to see a Class 7 or 8 in there, but if we are stuck with just a 6, at least I can get us some solid useable FSD range numbers right away. (just as soon as I can knock out this half dozen Pirate Lord missions that I need to finish before I can head out to J Memorial and grab the T10.)

Alright, got me one.

And one thing is for sure : Combat in this slow, cumbersome brick running that massively underpowered Class 6 Power Dist is not going to happen (other than for lulz).

On the pro side of things, I've virtually never seen a Weapons Capacitor @ 4 Pips run dry so fast. Ship doesn't even have the slightest chance to overheat, since the Weapons run out of juice virtually within Seconds.
That was fun to watch.
So far I thought the Cobra Mk.IV was bad when it comes to undersized Power Distributors - but the Type-10 takes the term "underpowered" to a completely new level [big grin]

I guess it'll complement my Mining Fleet just nicely though.

kinda boring just a fat T9 with a stupid no sense making spoiler. Ok, its for trading, should be boring and boxy and a fat T9, but that spoiler? seriously.

I try to imagine what engineers did:

"Damn with this boxy design this cannot work well in athmosphere."
"We should make it more aerodynaimc"
"yeah"
*thinking silence interrupted with a lunch horn*
"damn today is pasta day, lets just add a fancy aerodynamic spoiler and get lunch"
*sound of doors being slammed*

I didn't realize Lakon was taking design tips from Delacy.....

Oh wait, Delacy is Alliance, isn't it......

Knew those two teaming up was a bad idea.......

FSD is C7, Powerplant is C8, Thruster is C7

Ok it’s nice. Handles well with no engineering, better than my T9 with G5 DD but not as fast. Taking out a dangerous npc vulture was easy fitted for trade. Nice price too and good if upgrading from a T9.

The 2 military are nice, weapons placement nice and all those utilities are useful.

But less cargo than a T9 means it’s no cutter for combat trading and it needs large AX with that PD to take goids. Hull tank potential is good though.

I’d probably accept losing 16 cargo for the jump range, handling and better offence/defence than the T9 for general use if not already in a Cutter.

With the right weapons available though and a bit of engineering it should be good against goids and is a decent stepping stone to the big 3, although fully fitted I’d probably still go Conda, not that much different fully fitted on price there.

Enjoyed flying it but for now it won’t be replacing my Conda or Cutter.

D-rated T-10 with 8 utility modules, no weapons, only optionals installed dis scanner, surface scanner and docking computer.
Thrusters 7A rated G5 DD
FSD 7A Range G5
Powerplant 7A
Power Distributor 6A

FSD range min 30.48ly current 30.46ly max 31.51ly
Pitch 30.23 Roll 54.97 Yaw 10.99
Top speed 247m/s
Boost speed 302m/s

Yeah I need to see the stats in Coriolis to have a good fiddle: like what will an optimised light-weight build get for jump range.

Pity the hull didn't get an upgrade to the conda's hull materials, probably break 100Ly...

The question here is, would it replace the T9?

I knitted one with engineered modules und full armor. I am underwhelmed. :-/
Only 10% more armor than the Anaconda and a super weak shield. The size 6 PD ist a no go for PVE but it's ok for the AX weapons, but besides a 3rd flak launcher, it has nothing to provide over an Anaconda. Even with 136% DD5 tuning, it can't reach 300m/s boost. Pitch ist a bit slower than an Anni but better than the Cutter. Jumprange is ok. But I hoped it could do something better than the other big 3... but nothing as far as I can see.

wth is that spoiler good for?

finding a sponsor and putting some advertisement on it.

or Ads, nothing sells your goods better than flying into the station with a Huge "Coke" banner on it when you bring a load of coke with you. I mean it's christmas time and the coke trucks are around again I guess. And the T10 is just the ED's coke truck.

it just needs that pulse camo now
